A good way to tackle the Covid problem Chookie, I think we’ve been so careful for so long it has just become the norm now. I totally agree with buying when you see things you’d like as it often isn’t there when you go back for it.
We had that weather before it went over to Melbourne and once again where I live here on a peninsula in the west there was no damage done but in adjoining suburbs there were shattered pergola roof coverings and skylights etc. My SIL’s huge pergola is wrecked out in the northern suburbs and a metal garden shed at DD’s place at Glenelg was thrown around and in pieces in their back yard, luckily no damage done there. I’m sure there will be more stories to hear as we speak to friends in different areas.

Take the warnings about shortages at Xmas seriously everyone ... already our suppliers are running out of stuff and say that the new stock coming in will have price rises of c. 25%. We are stocking the shop as much as possible, but you can guarantee someone will come in tomorrow and ask for something that we don't have ... ah well, can't win them all.
We are getting away from the city for the first time in 3-4 months tomorrow ... really looking forward to it. The shop is opening for the first time out of lockdown tomorrow as well - the diary is pretty full and I feel just a bit sorry for abandoning the staff, but they are all long term employees so they should be fine ... suffering from first day back at work shock, but fine!.

Marina, have been thinking of you. Hope all is ok at Guildford. Our gardener rang early this morning to check on us. We are surrounded by massive cypress trees they do protect us in storms.
I’m going to try and share a lovely photo of a Tawny Frog mouth chick. It flew from its nest and DS and neighbours have been trying to protect it from cats and dogs. It is sitting in a box on a second floor veranda.

I’m sure they will be fine leaving you free to get away and do what you have to do Marina. I was going to say have a great time back home but it will be all work, work, work.
What a little cutie Chookie, I hope it will be able to survive.

Chookie the baby tawny frogmouth is so very sweet. Hopefully it will be fine.
I heard about the storms, I’m pleased that no one had property damage.

Re the Tawny Frog Mouth chick. David Attenborough advertised that he is interested in doing a program on how these Owls survive living in urban environments. DS and neighbour sent him some photos of last years family. He expressed interest in coming to Melbourne to do the program. It’s nice that the community has come together to protect these wild creatures. Wildlife Victoria has been advising them.
We are back to Winter. Rain, wind and cold. 2 degrees last night.

We had a visit from DS and family. We haven’t seen them for 4 months. We had a BBQ down by the dam. Ral was given a fire pit and we set it up . I cooked Pork ribs and reheated them on the fire. First time I have cooked ribs. We were entertained by the 3 ducklings

DH sort of mastered the roti maker today. He likes wraps when we are away in the van. I always cook a corned beef and we have that. I have rye SD sandwiches. We made 10 wraps, he had 2 today and we froze the rest so he can eat them in the van.

A lovely reunion Chookie, glad the weather was nice for it after the terrible weather we’ve had lately. Enjoy your getaway break cookie and DH his wraps.
