It wouldn't be the first time I've taken a cake out of the oven to add eggs or some other ingredient that I found on the bench.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I’ve just found a posting on FB which led me to Meals on Wheels recipes and as they’re based on good nutrition and catering for the elderly I thought it might be an interesting exercise having a browse.  From the many recipes I was able to print out 13 which should suit my needs. The recipes are for 20 serves but they give you the quantities for 1 serve so it’s easy to work out the quantities if you only want to make 2-4 serves. I got more from this list than information from a Dietician so needless to say I was wrapped.  Thought I’d post the link as some of you may be cooking for your elderly parents who need soft food options.

That’s wonderful Judy. I found that the dietician I was sent to when I was told about my diabetes was utterly useless. DD said she could refer me to good ones but things are going well enough.

I was fossicking through the internet yesterday, looking for a vegan mango custard recipe and found a really nice one - quick and easy, just my sort of recipe!  I decided to look further on the same site to see what else they had and found an interesting recipe for a chocolate mushroom cake!  It actually looks quite appetising so that is on my list for Xmas cooking!  It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Sounds interesting indeed Marina, I look forward to your review of the recipe down the track. Some nice recipes can be found whilst having a look around a site that Google has led us to.

I thought it was a pretty good set of recipes Marina, I’ve heard so many people say they wouldn’t have MOW delivered but I wonder how many of those have actually tried their recipes. K Atie, it’s a pity I don’t eat oysters, nothing could be easier to serve up.

Judy, thanks for the link.  I will pass it on to my friend who sometimes cooks for a group of elderly citizens.
Today it was 28 degrees. A heatwave for us.

That’s good Chookie, it has to be helpful when feeding the elderly.
Hot here too but it was OK, house is still cool - hotter tomorrow though.

A friend of mine used to run the MoW for a local council and I know she put in heaps of time choosing recipes due to the racial mix of citizens in her locality, she really went out of her way to find special treats for them during their main religious or national holidays.

Very warm again today. 28.
Appointment with Podiatrist. First one. I’ve been avoiding it as I have very ticklish feet.
