Thanks for all the good wishes for Ral. He is responding to the treatment as expected. The goodies that I send in each day do brighten up the nurses day.  They are working under a lot of pressure with the COVID.
It is a worry about the kids returning to school. The rules for Victorian schools is that if a child in a class tests positive, they and their family have to isolate for 7 days, but the rest of the class doesn’t have to isolate.
Do everything not to catch it. My neighbour visited yesterday. She caught COVID recently. She is fit and healthy. She said that the lack of energy is something she has never experienced. She said you can’t move because you feel that you have no bones in your body. She was devastated by panic attacks.
If you don’t have any RAT tests keep an eye on your temperature.

I was offered some free RAT kits by our chemist this week so I took up the offer.

I can't remember the exact term used, but apparently there are a lot of people, like ourselves, who have gone into a 'silent' lock down in an endeavour to keep themselves as healthy as possible.

I think we are very sensible. DH says he is only going out to see his Mum. However in the last few days he has invited a friend over who is FIFO, he and the ex student who are building the racer worked here this morning, on Friday he went to help an elderly friend paint a pergola. I have a little chuckle.

I now know a few people who were deemed to be a close contact of a positive case, it had to happen eventually.  Be careful Mr Cookie.

I caved in and got covid booster as DS at school there really is too much close contact possibilities. Don’t know if anyone in the family will want to get their booster after watching me be so unwell .

K Atie, the vaccinations and boosters affect everyone differently.  I guess it's a matter of deciding if it is better to go for protection from COVID than the alternative.  We have a friend who has opted not to be vaccinated and he spends all his time apologising for his stance - he's a nice guy but it is really annoying having to reassure him all the time that it is his choice and he doesn't need to apologise to us.  Another acquaintance, also not vaccinated, is into conspiracy theories and I won't go there - I just think he has become  bit of a nutter!

I tried to post this under Non-Themomix recipes, but for some reason it didn't work, so ....

Just found this ‘useful’ way of buttering bread : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BR3eeX8v6o (possibly worth following up if you are camping / picnicking – but perhaps not if it is hot!).

I love that Marina. Can you imagine if anyone was watching. They would be shocked at someone putting glue on their toast.

Thanks Marina, what a giggle.
Lovely weather here. Not too hot. Maybe already in Autumn. Cookie I feel for you. Hope the books you are reading are good.
I’m still clearing out stuff. The big pantry is finally in order. Next the files. Recipes !!!
Took my Kenwood to have serviced/ fixed. Advised that the old ones are better than the new ones.

I must tell my brother about the Kenwood Chookie. He does most of the cooking now and is venturing into cake making. He mentioned that he may replace their old Kenwood.

Lovely and cool today.  Hot at the weekend.
I’m picking beans and mini tomatoes. Ral can’t have either. The chooks have finally started laying.
I’m attempting an elaborate Bundt cake as a gift for a neighbours Birthday. Hope it doesn’t stick.
GS has had COVID and didn’t know. DD heads off on her paddle across Bass Straight on Tuesday.

Very best wishes and calm sailing (OK, paddling) to DD and her friends on their crossing to Tasmania next week.

It's amazing that GS had COVID and didn't know - I suspect that that may be more common than we realise.  Lucky her, not realising she had it.
