There have been tears in my eyes reading your recent posts, Chookie.  This is such an impossibly hard time for you, Ral and your family, but I am sure you are facing all your problems with dignity and that is so terrifically admirable, but terribly hard at the same time.  We are with you in spirit.

Chookie I really feel for you. It is so sad to watch someone we love dearly go dowhill. Much love to you both.

Thanks again for all your lovely messages.
The new regime of drugs seems more severe than the previous chemo. It is a 4 week program of pills administered at home , with increasing dosage over the 4 weeks. Ral has a blood test at the end of each week. He is continuing to eat well but looks awful. Probably trying to do too much.

I think, as we age we understand that we cannot do all that we used to do, but accepting it is a different story.  For a big, man like Ral, it must be even harder but he is trying to carry on as much as normal, which is good for him.

We have had a very good week. Rals kidneys are standing up to the new medication so they are looking at moving on to the next step in the program. The aim is to try to hold the Cancer .
When we bought our new home, we knew our GP lived  in the same street. In fact he and his family live next door. They visited last Sunday.  2 small boys and a lovely wife. They insisted that if we need help, even In the middle of the night, we are to ring or bang on their door.
I retrieved some of my baking dishes dishes rom storage.

That’s good news Chookie and how handy is it having your GP live next door.

Good news about Ral - a wonderful Xmas gift.

So thoughtful of your doctor, it must also take a weight off your shoulders just knowing he is there and help is at hand if you need him
