Good idea Margaret. Hopefully you’ll start to come good in the next day or so.

As Judy says, Margaret, take it easy for the next couple of days and take care of yourself

Mab, yes bed rest sounds good. Get well soon.
Made a Chai spice mix yesterday. Think it might be nice in biscuits with walnuts.

I have not been at my best lately but am finely over Covid thank goodness. Unfortunately I am now having a problem with my oesophagus again. Everything I try to eat or drink just comes back. I have not eaten or drunk anything since last Sunday. I have managed a few sips of liquid today and so far they have stayed down. I am passed feeling hungry but would love to have a good drink of something. I've kept some of Judy's smoothie recipes and will try and give them a go. I have lost another 4kg which is nice but this is not the way to do it.

Sorry to hear this Margaret, it seems no-one is able to help you at the moment. I’ve virtually lived on Sustagen for over 3 years now, I mix it with milk not water and luckily I love it. Not being able to keep things down is a difficult problem for you though and I guess a dietician hasn’t been able to help much either? I never found them much help so I just came up with my own ideas of adding as many ingredients as I could in the drink to maintain weight. I only have 2 drinks a day plus soft desserts sometimes but no in-between-meal snacks. I really enjoy my couple of Nescafé sachet coffees or lattes, one with breakfast and another one around lunchtime. Don’t give up, continue your search to find someone who can help you.

Mab, so sorry to hear that you are still suffering. Hope you find help / advice soon that helps you through. I think Judy's smoothies sound a great idea for you, well and truly whizzed up to make them more easy to swallow and keep down.

Mab, hang in there. Good to lose some weight, but not like that.
I have a phone consultation with a dietician once a month. She is very good. Not pushy, very supportive.
Dyson stick vacuum was playing up. DIL came to stay for the weekend. I was away. She washed the filter and this fixed it. She has joined a walking group and they were doing a walk around Ballarat.

Chookie if you look on uTube there are clips which will show you how to completely disassemble it to give it a thorough clean. I did that when my first one wasn’t performing as it should.

Chookie we regularly take the filter off and wipe the dust off first then sometimes DS uses the air compressor to blow it off . Then wash it , don’t use till it is air dried completely. Also I will detangle the bottom part if anything is caught around it like hair or cotton . We even have had issue and ring Dyson they listers to the noise and send a new replacement part under warranty!

My DB rang yesterday to say that he had been to his doctor because he was short of breath. He was sent to Monash hospital and had a triple bypass done today. I'm still waiting for SIL to ring to tell me how he went.

Gosh that would have been a shock Margaret. Thank goodness DB went to the doctor and didn’t put it off. Wishing him all the best.

That's so good that your DB was taken care of so quickly and I wish him a quick recovery. I think as we get older we worry more about every pain or medical problem that we may (or may not) have, but do nothing about checking it for fear we may be becoming hypochondriac, so it was really good that your DB did something positive when he was experiencing breathing problems and didn't just ignore it.
