Hello from the far north of England....
We are here.... Am pooped and in bed with my iPad.... Had a hot bath to warm up too.
What's new? LOL

Poor DH has a nose like a tap today and has streamed his way up the country..... Hoping not to catch it..... Probably a vain hope. He is snug watching theTV.

We arrived at almost 7 pm, after 9.5 hrs journey with stops including seeing my mum. We went in and out of the most terrific storms, really weird.

Have got a pic on my phone of the giant puddle when we stopped for milk and bread but photo has not transferred yet.

Holiday house ok, but to be honest am bit disappointed. It smells terrifically of damp, but I did manage to put heating on for - bit and that helped, probably have it dried out by end of week! I do know it is a wet summer, but I feel damp houses are very off putting.

Frozzie have you room I think Italy sounds much better!

Luckily we brought our own towels as their towels are threadbare to say the least. Even the dog would be disappointed to have a towel like these. And there are no tea towels or oven gloves. I will ask about those tomorrow, a bit fundamental I think.

Trouble is when you are comfy and dry and warm at home it is a bit of a let down to pay really quite a lot of money to be worse off. Still the whole point is the graduation and am sure it will all be fine.

We have various things planned but will see how DH feels with his awful cold. I know where t go in the morning to get a paper and another box of hankies.... Last ones were not acceptable!  Need bigger ones!

Shall have quick catch up on here then got news papers to read and a very good book. A holiday one, just pure fiction!

Ps hope you feel better Hally

Sleep well, Jess.  Hope sniffles improve soon and the graduation will be well worth all the travel and discomfort at the rented house.

We once did the run from Plymouth to Inverness in one day on our motorbike - that was hard going, so I can sympathise with your 9.5 hour trip, but at least the weather was good all the way on the day that we did that run.

Well I am hoping the sun will appear and dry my grass so I can mow it (think I'm expecting too much) but you never know :D

Too much light fundj I think. Need to keep them in a dark place. Either that or they had a bit of green on them before you got them and it's just got worse.

Mr Google always has an answer

No matter how beautiful Tasmania is I could never live in the cold ever again. I was born in a snow belt area of NY and I hate cold except in a beer. I feel your pain Dede and desi.

After reading that I don't think I would be eating  green potatoes. I  guess this is why people had root cellars and kept the dirt on potatoes.

Especially bad for pregnant women. Interesting veg the potato.

Dede, you do get some lovely sunny days in the north this time of the year which is lovely to be out and about.

Gert, I know what you mean about Nth American winter. I spent a January in Illinois a couple of years back and I found it difficult
to go out of the house. it was colder than here :)
