Hello everyone, survived first shift.

No Marina, not that house another one about 4 times the size with fewer stairs.
Different family, but they have a 7 week old puppy and appear to have never house trained a pup before...
Muggins here has done it many times... And seems now to be landed with it, only I am not there until 2 pm... The housekeeper is there from 8 am.

Kids seem fine, but I spent a lot of time on my knees cleaning CREAM carpets.....  Methinks only absent parents would buy a lab puppy in the winter and leave everyone else to cope with it.  I will keep counting the money.
Nice to be told by a little girl that I am not old, as their previous nannies all seem to be around the age 20 mark. Apparently my cooking is much better! LOL.

DH home tonight and tomorrow night as off to London by train tmro.  :D

Roll on the weekend.

Don't know how you do it DJ? I probably would have had more kids and pets if someone else looked after them.

Morning everyone.
Frozzie DS will grow out of it. My eldest DD used to do similar things and couldn't remember in the morning.
Was worrying at the time. Her 9 year old DS now does it too  :)
CC your apple crumble and clotted cream brings back happy  memories :D
DJ glad the kids seem fine which is a plus for you as must make the job easier. Happy puppy toilet training! You didn't sigh up for that one
Busy day here for me as off to NZ tonight with my mum. She is so excited and it will lift her spirits as she still hasn't gotten over dads death and itvs been 2 years now.

Enjoy your trip to NZ, MF.  Where are you going?

DJ we once lived in the servants wing of a grand old house in Kent and the owners, Lord and Lady X, had an incontinent dog who did the deed on their silk carpets and would just leave it (sometimes for days) until the housekeeper came in to clean it up.  so you are REALLY lucky, you get it all fresh!!!!!!

No MF you are right, I did not sign up for that. I will mention it to the agency IDC.
See how the kids go... day 1 is usually easy, while they weigh up the boundaries.

Sounds good CC.
I don't really think I have a choice McMich, right now. The life we all had in August bears absolutely no resemblance to the one we have now.

Night night all, will be sleeping soon, or trying to.

DJ, i thought you were the nanny, you seem to be the jack of all trades in this house. Maybe you should point out that your not there to clean up after the puppy. I bet the puppy is so cute ;D

DJ, puppies and cream carpet certainly do not mix.  Pity they have not put down old sheets or something to make it easier for you.  I bet the children are enjoying your cooking.  :)
Enjoy your trip MF to New Zealand and hope your Mum has a great time.
Frozzie, I am sure things will come right for DS.

Could you confine the puppy to a non carpeted area until it is house trained?

Morning everyone!

DJ, well done on your first day. It sure sounds like the cooking was a hit :D :D :D I'm also dubious about the puppy though :-))

Glad you survived the first day DJ and you will soon have that gorgeous puppy trained - just forget about the kids for a while and concentrate on the puppy first  ;D  Your job will then be so much easier.  The kids will love you, an older nanny is like having a grandma around not a big sister.

MF, I hope you and Mum have a great holiday.  2 years and she still hasn't settled down, gosh that's a long time and I do hope this holiday helps in that regard.

Thanks JD I hope she has a good time.
She isfinding it more difficult as time goes by.
She said she can't accept that he isn't coming back.
Poor mum she was with dad since she met him at 18 and is lost without him  :(
A different environment will take her mind off it and hopefully she will relax and have fun  :D
