I walked out the door of my home in the States with 2 suitcases, Got on a plane for Australia  with no real idea where it was and have been here ever since. That was 1965.

We are very glad about that.
The photo of your son saying farewell is lovely Gert. Your DIL sounds very special.

Thanks cookie . Yes she is special.

I have to say Amy that my DS  was brought up to cook , clean and do for himself and he did very well at it and still does but somehow he has a modicum of chauvinism  which  shows up from time to time. Luckily my DIL is quick smart to quell that  particular failure. Thankfully she does  not blame me and puts it down to one of those man things. When he shows these traits we all just laugh AT him. Poor bugger has no males in the family to,back him up.

He is a gifted intuitive teacher and will be sadly missed in his  small school.  I hope he does not abandon teaching altogether. There are not nearly enough male teachers in the system.
