.   We've had to abandon the trip to see family as OH is now feeling under the weather.   Still unsure whether we will get visitors here or not - if they are not coming then I'm going to be over-run with food.  :D
Glad you're better Katya :-*
So if they don't come it's a weekend of cooking and freezing for you :D :D :D

Evening Marie ;D

Hope all those who are not feeling well are improving, I don't think I've known so many to go down at the one time before.

Not good CC.
My first power blackout was three months after we were married and right in the middle of me cooking a roast for my in-laws for the first time ever. Candles, raw potatoes, no veg and BBQ roast beef. Did manage to make runny gravy.  They never came back for an encore :D

CC, have you been given a reason for all the blackouts?

CC, have you been given a reason for all the blackouts?
An insulator has gone on a overhead power cable on a pylon. They has installed two very big portable generators to run our local power until it's fixed but one of the generators is faultily and keeps stopping, :P
I reckon it will be a long time until it's fixed Judy.

Our area is prone to power cuts Judy. :P DH bought it last year and it's been fantastic. One of our neighbour's got so fed up that he had a major generator installed so they had power when the power failed.

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes.   Feeling almost back to normal and visitors are coming tomorrow so no food panic.  Mind you, we've a heap of beetroot and pomegranate salad as I was taking some of that with me today.

That doesn't sound good CC - is it the bad weather that caused the fault in the first place?   Glad to hear you have a generator so at least you can get some power but it must be annoying not knowing when the next strike will hit.
