Gert i have something to drop in the bottles to make it sparkling. I think it is probable ready for the apple essence then i leave 24 hours and then bottle. It does come with a syphon and i can see it could get interesting. My DD gave it to me in November, given the need to keep the temp etween 18-28 i am glad i didnt do it earlier.
Thanks for sharing your knowlege. X

Good morning everyone.

I have a question.  It may be that I am looking at the wrong threads, but I haven't seen Frozzie's name for a while, is everything OK with her?  Good to see Mama Fergie posting again, too.  I know I tend to be a bit erratic with my posts, due to time constraints, but I am usually popping in for a quick look 2 - 3 times a day.

Hope you all have a great Tuesday and, remember ... only 9 months until Christmas!!

Hello all, had a good day in the garden today.

Lovely DJ. Yes you could make  cider from your pears without a lot of fuss. There are lots of amateur cider makers in the UK and a wealth of info on line for you. Imagine serving a spiced dry still pear cider on a cold night. Yum.

I must have a look at this kit. Sounds like you are making  the alcohol then adding just the apple flavour essence. Must make a trip to my brew shop.

Now you have a fermenter you should think about buying an air distiller and you can make spirits.  There may be some VDO's on the method of siphoning on You Tube or make your own so we can see the fun. ;D. If it proves difficult try the jug method. I have a tap at the bottom of my fermenter thank goodness.
