Hi friends.

Wow that's a lot of rain Cookie :o Keep safe :-* Other people keep cool :-*

Another grey cold windy day here. :P Even though it is cold I enjoyed my walk with Chance who never minds what is happening with the weather.

Good morning everyone, enjoy your weekend and just veg out if you're in a hot area.
I'd also like some of your snow for a change Denise.

No rain here today, I think we've had enough for a bit. DH and I will have to check out where we are going on our 5 day holiday as a lot of roads/bridges are washed out down south. Mainly inland though.

Hello everyone, I hope you have all had a good start to the weekend.
It seems as though the crazy weather is the major topic of discussion lately. It's as though our east & west coast have done a swap. I hope we have some more warm to hot weather soon otherwise I am going to feel ripped off.

Good morning everyone.  Overcast, cool with some rain here.

Chookie why are you pruning roses now? I always thought they were done in winter.  The reason I ask is that I have some on the drive which actually belong to the neighbour and they do nothing with them so I look after them but don't know much about them at all.  Should I be doing these now?

hello all, I have 6 kids here this weekend.

alot of food to cook, and clothes, towels in the wash, but they are having fun making a track and jumps for the bikes.

I'm looking forward to this answer too as we have dozens of roses and getting an early start on pruning would be great.

Mab, this is a quick tidy up before the big prune. We should get a second flush of flowers in a couple of weeks. You cut off the hips and down about 3 leaf joints.  Also it apparently makes the winter prune much easier.
Our Roses are about 15 to 18 years old and a real mess.
