Hopefully people will all realise the mask wearing is for the best.
Gert, I had to chuckle at your comment.

Gert, you are most welcome, however no one wants to came to Vic at the moment. We keep the house at 20, and just put up with paying the electricity bill.
Maybe the Solar will help a bit.
I rang the Vic Solar every day last week.   Each time they asked for something different.  Friday afternoon they approved our application . Provided it doesn’t rain, instillation Wednesday.
Today, sunny and mild.  Lovely.

The solar will be good Chookie. We were lucky and got quite a subsidy when we put our in. I think we are getting something like 4? Cents for each unit we put back in the grid. We have a credit with the power company. That runs out next year.

On Friday NSW hospitals got a new directive from the NSW government. It is mandatory for nurses to wear masks. Because we now have some hotspots in Port Stephens and East Maitland, if you have been in these hotspots on the specified times you must be swabbed and self isolate for 24 days even if the swab is negative.
Newcastle, The Lake, The Valley and The Bay should have closed their boarders. It was a Sydney person that reintroduced the virus.

Michele, that is tough but necessary.  There are so many people in Victoria not doing the right thing, it is frightening.

... especially when they are being intentionally provocative against retail staff, authorities, quoting old laws that they think exempt them from obeying the 'new' laws! I think they are being referred to as COVID deniers - someone should drag them off to the hospital just so they can see how non-existent this pandemic really is

Marina this is exactly what my DH was suggesting. Personally I would just dump them somewhere. What stupid people. They care for no one, obviously. They are getting so much media coverage. I felt sorry for Dan Andrews commenting on that woman! He seemed almost in tears, saying 10 families will be arranging funerals.

Good Morning. Have worked all weekend. We just can't get any staff. All staff, patients and visitors must wear masks when in the hospital. Pt's are encouraged to stay in their rooms. I don't know if it's Australia wide or just in NSW, nursing staff that work in multiply aged care facilities will have to choose just 1. I think this is a wise decsion. It is why we are so short staffed as our hospital is trying not to employ agency staff.
I saw the new restrictions on Victorians and NSW will probably follow suit. Hopefully this will stop the spread.

We were expecting this but still is a shock.  Poor Melbourne, just because a few selfish people won’t do the right thing. Not so severe for us in the country.
I put an order in for home delivery with Woolies.  By the time I had finished the order, 8 items were no longer available.  These were lamb and fresh veggies. Not a big deal for us but other families will find this difficult.
Over night here will be very cold and we may get some snow.  It will be a very cold week.

We have another cold day here, but no where as cold as yesterday with it's maximum of 12.

Well it did snow over night and continued until 11am.  Very cold and the electrician came to finish the wiring for the Solar and then the inspector came and was on the roof and it was freezing. Filled them up and thawed them out with SD crumpets and coffee.  I made Cumquat jam today.  Probably best I have made. 11 jars.

There is no doubt that the tradies network are on to you. They know they will be well fed and go home with treats.

Good morning everyone.  Another freezing cold day here.  We had snow in some parts of the town yesterday.  I've only known that to happen twice before.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Gert, what was interesting was that in spite of the freezing cold, the tradies were most conscientious in what they were doing. Checking and double checking the wiring and connections.
