And Gert your a wise wise woman. What you said is exactly right. The client is a lovely person and she is very patient with me. Must be hard to have to constantly be teaching new support workers all the time. I get frustrated with my self when I walk away from a shift that didn't go so well. But I'm getting there. Back again with her in the morning :)

It will all be good. You can imagine how many times she has said the same things to many  different people. Once you get her routine down pat it will be a breeze and you will both sail through it and be able to chat  and hopefully become friends. May take a wee bit of  being close to "times up" at first but gets trust me when I say  once you "get it" time will fly and it won't be a chore and you will look forward to  it. Hard work brings it's own reward for both of you.

To take on two such jobs means you have a good heart as well as a strong one . Don't forget to look after your back and sometimes you have  to bite your tongue . I used to cure my tongue with a shot of scotch when I got home and my family knew not to talk to me until I had "settled". LOL!

You're a good friend Robyn, I'm sure your friend appreciates it.
I got my offer letter for the new job yesterday, so gave my notice to my boss, requesting I take the last 2 weeks as long service leave, which he wasn't too happy about - understandable, he was a bit shocked about my leaving. Anyway, near the end of the day he called me aside to say that he'd been told I had to be "walked".... So after 15 years I had about 15 minutes to send off a quick farewell email, hand in my laptop, ID cards etc. Came as a shock to everyone, including me! Good thing is I'm on paid garden leave for a month, then get paid out all the other leave I'm owed. Still trying to get my head around the fact I have 4 whole weeks off, heads buzzing with all the things I can get done, very excited!
Oh and today I bought an iPad to celebrate!
Expect to see me on here a bit more now 😄

Well if that's the way they want it deedub, it would suit me right down to the ground to have an extra 2 weeks off and still be paid all the money owing to me.  Leaves a sour taste in your mouth though.  Enjoy your ipad and the break.

Glad that you have 4 weeks off Dee but must be disappointing that after 15 years of service it ended that way.
Onward and upward. Hope you are very happy in the new position and thoroughly enjoy the month off.  :D

Shameful behaviour Deedub but that is the way it seems to go these days.  They don't even give your mates time to give you a send off. Well so be it. Enjoy our iPad and time off.

The way I see it they must think I'm pretty important - they don't do this to everyone! My boss was just as shocked as I was, he was just following orders. Going to a team lunch tomorrow which was pre-arranged, guess it will be a mini send-off now.
Barely got a look at the iPad yet, kids have commandeered it!
