Deedub I have heard that happen a few times. Usually it is the more Important people. They just don't want you to influence people and  things and take the company secrets with you. Take it as a compliment.

Enjoy the additional leave Deedub and make the most of it.

Unfortunately in a lot of resignations these days there is a need to "walk" the person off immediately and have them on gardening leave. The introduction of everything on computer, and an increasing number of people using their notice to arrange to take company information with them makes it a wise business decision in a lot of cases, and a potential risk to leave with the employee with full access. I rountinely advise leaders to take that course of action even though it sounds harsh. We would normally ensure they have also arranged a farewell lunch etc so they are able to say a proper goodbye. Definitely don't take it as an insult or personally, simply an unfortunate side effect of business these days.

I can understand that this type of sabotage/theft would go on. If an employee was leaving and probably would hazard a guess that they would be walked out and intended taking information with them wouldn't they take it before they put their resignation in.

After 15yrs of loyal service and conducting business with integrity to now cast doubt over my honesty and treat me as a potential thief is insulting.

You would think so Mich but unfortunately it's not always the case. I always assume everyone acts the same as me (with honesty and integrity) unless there is a reason to think otherwise, so don't see it as casting doubt over anyone as long as the same rule applies to all  in certain positions. If I was singled out for this type of treatment I would definitely be insulted. Generally speaking, if you have access to the company computer systems, gardening leave is the norm once you have communicated your intention to resign. The majority of our contracts now even include a clause detailing the circumstances when you would be placed on gardening leave.

I've de-slimed the front and back path  ;D
And sewn a personalised pencil case for an order.

Had a lovely slow start this morning.  Me and the kids were all still in our PJs at 10am.

My kind of morning Jo, I get more work done in my pj's/dressing gown than I do once I'm dressed for some reason.

Helped out at DS14's school canteen this morning. Assembled and packed 60+ meatball subs, whilst thinking I could make the buns and meatballs all using my thermie. Hahaha ;D

Trying to get this stupid Internet to work but it may take a couple of days as they need to check the line. Am currently tethered to my mobile, which is hard considering I have an internet based business. Feeling a bit lost without my computer so I should probably cook something.
