Drove from Newman to Perth today. 13 hours straight through just stopping for fuel. My sister and BiL got a good idea of how vast Western Australia is.  We also got a learned what happens when 2 really wide loads meet each other on a narrow stretch of road. A south bound mine haulpak met a north bound mining haulpak just north of Delwalinu. We all parked on the side of the road and watched the show.

And I thought driving almost the length of England today was long enough!
Seems it was nothing at all!

Well I've got got back from the market with my friend. We've bought 10 kg of green tomatoes for $5, 5 kg of second grade red capsicum for $3' and 4 bags of onions for $5.40. Looks like we'll be making chutney/relish/ sauce today. I'm just looking up some recipes......

We got rugged up and headed down to the beach with the kids, was lots of fun! I have spent the afternoon ignoring my washing pile to fold and snuggled under blankets and watched George of the jungle with the kids.  They love that movie lots of giggles :)

So far I've been unpacking, washing, grocery shopping, cooking, took kids & dog to the park, more cooking. Now just taking a short break before I get into folding the washing & more cooking.

Well I can now officially say that yesterday I cooked heaps and heaps of food for my sisters surprise baby shower today. I couldn't say too much as she does visit the forum regularly and didn't want to give it away. She had no idea and cried when she realized what we were doing. Was great :)

What a lovely sister you are. Your sister was obviously touched by it all.

What did you make for the baby shower and what gifts did she receive?

I've been asked to organise a shower for one of the young nurses on my ward and have been helped by some threads for Christmas in July etc but would like to know what you cooked dede?

Luckily, some of the other girls are decorating one of the conference rooms, that's not really my forte`.

We had mini pizzas, sausage rolls, lamingtons, dip, muffins, savory toast, bimby cake, sponge cake, fruit platter, mini meatballs, jelly slice (can't think what else) we had heaps of food.
My sister got lots of girls clothes, blankets, booties, hats, towels etc and one lady who makes modern cloth Nappies made 4 very cute new born Nappies.
My sister has a little boy now so mainly needed girls clothes.
She is now 25 weeks pregnant and all is going really well so far. We decided to have her baby shower earlier than normal incase bub was born early like her little DS.
Was great to see her completely surprised and didn't pick up on anything that we were planning. :)
