Wow DJ. Delightful to hear the kitchen is operational. You recollections of working travels is intriguing. We have an au pair joining us from Friday for the summer holidays. A lass from Ireland with a superb name. Aione. No typo!

Dj, good to see you here again :)

Cookie, a small fortune is needed for our teeth eh? Thank goodness for private health insurance. Medibank took care of $500. That still left me with an $850 hole.

Hally, I was thinking of how to make minecraft cake to distract me whilst the dentist "sculpted" away :D

Gert, we went out to Wink II for dinner on Thursday night and the dinner was fabulous. Mama Coco is lovely also. I hear lots of good things about Ozmosis too.

Glad you liked Wink. Must go to Mama Coco.

Great baking DJ, you must be so happy to finally be able to use your new ovens

On the spur of the moment we decided to go out for dinner with DD and her boyfriend. They wanted to go into the city fringe to a "cool" place and after a bit of thinking and then walking found a great Japanese restaurant that fit the bill. After dinner they were desperate to go to a bar and chose one that seemed very dark and the music was pretty loud, DH and I said we would wait outside or go on our own for a drink but DD's boyfriend asked the doorman if we were "too old" and got the go ahead. The music was loud but it was a pretty "cool" bar and we didn't feel to out of place. It was great the DD asked us to go along and was happy to be seen with us, we had a really lovely night with them in the end.

Yes wonder am very happy with new ovens...
. "I am a girl with many ovens.".... (NB I sing it in my head to the tune of the Stevie wonder song....
Try it...

Still trying to unpack kitchen, quite hard knowing where to put things when a lot is still not here. Did a fairly big shop, replacing missing stores and some things for Xmas like choccies, wine and beer, paper napkins and a load of cooking chocolate, Oreos and condensed milk for fudge and lots of nuts for the savoury spiced nuts which were such a hit last year.
Don't know quite how will fit all in time wise but the dog is going away to a sheepdog trainer next week for a few weeks so that will give me some time.

I also ordered fresh yeast online, so I must be getting my baking mojo back.
Still so much to do, months and months of DIY work, but at least we now have the two guest shower ensuites working. The main bathroom should be this week, the Lino is down, just the toilet and basin to reconnect. Then our own ensuite to do.

You're slowly getting there DJ and good luck with the dog trainer, he may come back a new boy.  Obviously things will grind to a halt right on Christmas but hopefully it will only be for a short time before everything is on the go again.

Lovely cooking DJ. How wonderful to be able to make so much bread in one go. Sounds like you will test that new kitchen out in no time.

Cleaning the house then some cooking. A fella dropped in to see DH and spotted my TM, he said his friend who does catering has a TM too but hardly uses it :o. Wow if I was doing catering I would want 2 TM's that would be used constantly :)

Cookie, were you in the Model ?? Fords on Great Northern Hwy through the Swan Valley at about 12-ish today (Sunday).

There was about 10 of them on the road - all with Santa hats on (the people - not the cars) and they looked fantastic! One car was parked up at The Olive Farm Wines entrance.

I thought of you immediately  :)

Could have got my cars totally wrong, by hey - I thought of you and the cars did look great!

Wow indeed Mandi, not a smart caterer!
Since our weekend plans got cancelled, have been trying to catch up on "stuff". Took the kids to see the Xmas windows yesterday, we then each bought a decoration for the tree (our annual tradition). A bit of Xmas shopping in the city, then home for lunch, grocery shopping, then a friends place for dinner.
Today swimming lessons, trip to the library, washing & lots of cooking. Need to tidy the house now - cleaner coming this week!
