It is ridiculous to have those temperatures at this time of the year, hopefully your nights are cool though?

Gorgeous candles again Maddy, I'm sure you will do very well when you start selling them.

Our minimum was 22.? Last night Judy and it is going to be similar tonight. Not very pleasant at all. Our air con is getting a work out this summer.

Nikkit, hope ur DD is fine. My naughtiest boy - middle child, of course - has been to PMH quite a number of times. Broken arm, bang head against goal post etc etc etc. Thank goodness, he's resilient and goes back to his cheeky self pretty quick.

Fab candles, Maddy  :)

Very humid tonight. Air cond and fans are running. Bring on autumn!

Miss 12 is terribly disappointed after an ultrasound and an x-ray yesterday confirmed no breaks or tendon damage. She was really hoping there'd be something wrong so she could have a cast!!  :-)) ??? Strange child!
I have wrapped/strapped her thumb today, to keep her happy, and so she can say she really has hurt it!

Last night was cool-ish, better than what we've been having. I've never had to run the aircon so late as what we have this year. Today is overcast - we could see beautiful black clouds out over the coast. We've had 2 drips and a drizzle here this morning, just enough to make the ground smell lovely (you'd remember that smell Cookie - the first rain smell?) But not enough to join the dots. Very disappointing. I even had a chat to ol' Huey this morning, time he pulled his socks up and gave us some wet stuff!

Maddy your Hi Tea candles are just gorgeous  :)

I love the smell of rain. I can smell it way off and people often think I am crazy when I say I can smell rain. Rain on red dirt that has been freshly turned- that is my idea of a heavenly scent.
we've had enough drops to make it very humid this morning.

(I typed a version of this out yesterday, but got timed out when I got to the last sentence and had to stop to serve up dinner and it disappeared)

On Sunday our next door neighbor left for Phuket for a week and asked me to collect mail and take bins out, and just keep an eye on the house. As I was putting the bins on the verge yesterday the neighbor next to them said they were burgled on Sunday night. They were sitting out on the front verandah having a few drinks with friends and the thieves came through the back door. She didn't realise until the next morning when she was looking for her phone and handbag etc. So...I did a check of my next door neighbors house and lo and behold the front door was wide open  :o so the forensic cop came over and checked through the house to make sure they still werent there and if he thought it had been burgled. No, looked ok  :) He thought he would test the front door lock and so he asked DD and I to go inside and close the door. Yes, it locked. Unfortunately we could not open it then and we didn't have a key  :o Found one, put it in the lock and turned it and then it snapped off in the lock  :o We searched high and lo and tried all the other doors but they were deadlocked also. Cop was just about to call HQ and ask permission to break a window when DD found the switch for the remote garage door and we made a hasty exit. What a laugh  ;D The front door had been open wide for 2 days, and those burglars would have had easy pickings.

An intriguing story CP, held my attention to the very last word  :D  So glad you were able to get out without damaging their house and boy were they lucky duckies.

Nope not crazy Cookie - It is such a good smell.

Miss 12 said on the way up to the bus this morning that if she could bottle the scent and wear it as perfume she'd be happy for the rest of her life!

CP..Oh dear, not really what you want to be doing in your neighbours house! Hope when they come home after the dust settles that they see the funny side of your story. Hope they haven't lost anything.

CP what a laugh, part 2 when they come home please.
Cookie, i too love the smell of rain.  It is beautiful down here today. A real nip in the air.
Nikkit, soft tissue damage is often worse than a break and the pain can continue for a long time. Bandage it up for her and make it look the part.
