CC, they look very interesting. Love something a bit different. I recently bought some Mexican corn seeds to grow. 2 different packets for eating the cobs and one lot for drying and grinding into powder.
Katj we Nannas seem to get a lot of different jobs with parents being so busy. Well done.
I saw the eye specialist today for my Glaucoma. All good, has been stable for about 10 years. Took us 2 hours to drive there and 2 1/2 to drive home.
This morning I typed the recipe for Strata onto my Blog. Will put it onto the Forum when I have time.
With 3 consecutive Saturday's of Open Days, time seems to vanish.

I'm pleased all was well with the Glaucoma Chookie. You are certainly busy.
I went to the podiatrist this morning and am now hanging round for a parcel that is supposed to be delivered by courier today. I usually shop today while DH is at car club !

A hot one here today, well for this time of the year anyway and I'd already decided today was going to my Royal Show day. With rain expected tomorrow onwards, I think every other person thought the same but I was in and out before it got too hectic. 2 hours is always enough for me to taste a few samplings, check out the Jubilee Pavilion and then buy some sample bags before heading off to the train. Once you buy the Woman's Weekly bag you need to leave, it is so heavy but is great value. Choccie & potato chip bags for my nursing home rellies and I picked up something to hang in Geoff's new room when they all move over to a brand new facility in 4 weeks time.

Judy and Cookie, we also love the Show but haven't been for years. Usually walk until we are exhausted.
Today we had Jims Mowing to do our lawns , took 4 hours. Also had a local man who refurbished an antique mirror for us, come and hang it.,
We are now sitting in a Cafe in Dalesford sharing a pizza .

Last week when I was near an Officeworks I stopped in to have some recipes bound. I was sick of trying to find them all over the place.

Good idea cookie.
Wow, 4 hours to mow the lawns Chookie. You would definitely need a sit on mower for that job! Were you happy with the antique mirror restoration? I have happy memories of Denise and me sitting with you and Ral in a cafe in Dalesford one very cold day a few years back.

Glad your glaucoma test was stable Chookie.
Chookie, when we were in Melbourne in Jube my son told me the Chowder cafe in Dalesford had closed. What a shame, I loved that place.
I haven't been to the show in years, my DD has asked me to go with her and GKids, I usually offer to babysit the youngest so she can get around a bit easier with other 2 kids. The baby is 2 now and probably will want to go, fingers crossed she doesn't ask me lol. I know I wouldn't get to see anything that interests me with 3 little ones in tow.

Last night I went to Tenina's cooking class and really enjoyed it. Tenina is such a natural presenter and was constantly dropping all sorts of helpful hints and tips throughout the evening, I just couldn't keep up. She had a great team working with her and the whole evening went smoothly. Those of you who were at Forum Fest Melbourne will know the venue - Alyce Alexandra's kitchen.
The evening started with the tangiest (does such a word exist?) Lemon Meringue Pie Smoothie you could ever imagine - it certainly woke up my taste buds for the treats that were to come.
I haven't got my recipe booklet near me at the moment, so I may miss some things out, but there was a delicious roasted canellini bean, garlic and olive hummus with seeded crackers, chicken jerk with mango and avocado salsa on tostadas, chocolate and cinnamon meringues which formed part of the Eton Mess, a dark chocolate fudge and baklava white chocolate nibbles (sorry, can't remember the orrect name of this one). The "Goodie Bags" were amazing and incredibly generous, EVOO, pink salt flakes, do-Terra oil, coconut sugar ... and quite a few more but my bag is upstairs in the kitchen at the moment and I know I have forgotten some of the items in there, as well as maybe one or two of the recipes that were cooked up but that gives you an idea of the quality and quantity of everything - by the way, she was using both the TM31 and the TM5 throughout the evening.
Cookie, I did say Hi to Tenina for you and she said she hadn't seen you for a while.
I can't remember who else is going to Tenina's class in Canberra but you will have a great time.

Katj, we also loved that Chowder cafe in Dalesford. When it was going they had their basic recipe printed in the Age newspaper. I made it several times. It was delicious. The secret was in cooking the base.
Marina, glad you enjoyed Teninas cooking demo.,she certainly is generous with her goodies and information.
Judy, we were thinking of you and CC as we enjoyed our Pizza. The mower man had a ride on mower. He enjoyed the Falafels and Trudys Lemon muffins. The mirror looks fabulous.

Was this your first Tenina class Marina? They are great fun and it's always nice to go home with a goodie bag. A perfect venue too.

I had been to one of Tenina's classes once before Judy, many years ago, shortly after she stopped working for Thermomix, if I recall.
Anyway, I have an update on EVERYTHING that was in the goodie bag because I knew I had forgotten some things. In addition to those mentioned before there was Cacao butter, shredded coconut, a sample of Heilala vanilla essence and ...Tenina's recipe book "Tmix". The recipe I missed out was a Jalapeno and Lima Aioli and the Baklava nibble was Baklava Chocolate Bars.
To be honest, I had never ever considered joining her "Insider" club because 99% of her cooking would probably not fit into our dietary requirements, but if she has all of those hints and tips scattered through her blog I could well be interested in investing the $97 for the year to see how it all goes.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed the class Marina. It is worth the money as it is entertaining as well. The goodie bags are great too. I haven't seen Tenina since last year when she joined a few of us for lunch. I didn't go to her class this year as I wasn't sure if we would be back from Mt Augustus. As it was we were.
I've joined the Insider club, I have also taken advantage of her 20% off a couple of times too. You also have access to many of her cookbooks as ebooks. They alone are worth the money. Have a peek and see if you would use the books.

I agree Cookie, the insider club is well worth the money. I didn't have most of the Ebooks, so that was a huge bonus!
She is a lovely lady and works very hard at what she does best. Good luck to her I say.
