Cookie your DH is certainly a very talented and persistent gentleman. Pass on Ral and my congratulations.
We had one big day today. The carrier men were fantastic, but the company tried to over charge us by $2000. ,
Funny how I  don't feel very sad at leaving Cherokee after 33 years. We loved every moment but I suppose the challenges ahead have taken over.

Just a little overcharge Chookie!  Something wrong with their calculations there.
You've had so long to get used to the idea of leaving Cherokee and now it's finally happened, it must be a great relief. Your new life had already started, albeit with constant trips back to the old house so I guess  your emotions at the moment would be of joy that it is finally happening.  Good luck to you both, it's been an amazing effort.

Judy, you have that right about leaving.
We stayed the night before the final shift at a B and B in Woodend. The host was very nice and got up early to give us an early breakfast.
The over charging for the shift has just confirmed that it is wise to trust your gut feeling.
Also the leading man in the shifting team went in to bat for us.  May be the morning tea and lunches talking.

Oh most definitely that would have helped Chookie not to mention the fact that you and Ral are two beautiful people of course.

Thanks Judy, but we see ourselves as pretty ordinary.  Although the carriers had some tales about extremely rude people they had shifted.

DD took me out for lunch today to the Epicurean at the Crown. It was lovely and I pretended I didn't have diabetes.  I filled up mainly on the lovely salads. Had some lovely house cured pastrami. Not a heck of a lot of sweets as although they were nice I didn't really want much. I had some Diplomat Pudding which I enjoyed very much.
I love trying the bread at these places. I had a piece of Rye bread and was extremely disappointed. The flavour was sort of ok but I felt mine was much better. They had some cute rectangular bread rolls about 2 1/2 in he's by 1 1/2 inches. They were rolled in lots of different seeds. The seeds gave them a lovely flavour.

Dinner was half a round of toasted ham and cheese.

What a lovely day out cookie, an early birthday present perhaps?

Cookie, sounds lovely.  I have had those triangular rolls when overseas. Fascinated how they make them.

Yes it was Judy. They have a surcharge on Sundays so we decided Saturday was just as good.

Today GD (18)  and I went to the fete at our local nursing home and retirement village.  Unfortunately the day was very windy and some of the stalls were having trouble keeping their items on their table.  GD thought it would be a good idea if we were to get our faces painted  so we did.  I decided against a black eye mask :-)) and so we settled for a small flower on our cheek.  We both received some strange looks from some people but you have to have a bit of fun now and then :)
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Yeah, brilliant idea. I'm sure your GD loved the fact that you had your face done as well.

Today was devoted to washing, ironing and a bit of housework. I have a few things that I didn't put in the van so will do those in the morning.
