A very sensible DD and Doctor.
WE had another coffee run this morning with the Model A club this time. We took the old ute again. We got stopped at some road works and held up so all the workers could come and have a look at it. Quite flattering really.
There were no hugs at coffee this morning as many of our members are well over 21. One couple have paid $35,000 for a cruise and have 5 days to decide if they are going or not. If they go then it is ok. If they don't they forfeit 50% of their money. They are younger than us, so I think I would be going. Their insurance doesn't cover them for pandemic.

Good to know that the doctor does car clinics ! Have to say it’s getting overwhelming with all the media hype.
Managed to get my car serviced today . Lots of odd jobs done , but missed yoga again . Tomorrow it’s hair cut time , lucky there was a cancellation. Tomorrow I may get Cryovac meat then it can go into the
freezer if we do not need it . I even brought powdered milk , just in case .. that takes up less storage than long life milk.
The other night kids and I had gone to bed but all awake . Something flew into my room . Now I was an optimist a  bogan moth , no it then went into DS bedroom, screams . I then closed all doors . DD went to the bathroom and screamed. A swallow I would say . Finerly DS and I got it out the back door .
DH is still very hesitant about his ankle op .

Went grocery shopping this morning.  Still no toilet paper or paper towels, I managed to get 3 boxes of tissues just as they were being put on the shelves.  Most shelves are looking empty.  No pasta, or flour and not much tin foods either.  Like K Atie I also bought a packet of powdered milk.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Take care KAtie. Your DH is understandably concerned, it must be hard for him. The bird would have really freaked me out.

I went to the podiatrist this morning and then DD and I went to a lovely Chinese restaurant at the Crown. It was really lovely and the food amazing. Very few there though, about 8 I think and it is a big swish place.

K Atie, sounds like you are overdoing it again.  Rest up if possible.  Poor DH, I can understand his apprehension.
Cookie, that is very nice.  People are really interested in interesting old cars.
Friend also were booked for a Cruise , cancelled but were allowed to swap money for another Cruise in the future.
We went out for lunch at friends house.  We bumped elbows instead of hugging. Probably the last outing for a while. DS rang to see we were ok.  DDIL had just returned from Aldi , in Melbourne.  She was concerned at the empty shelves.
We had the Septic tank cleaned out yesterday.  I asked if we could use tissues and he said , no.  Only toilet paper.

This isn't much use to most people, but our stationer here in fitzroy has toilet paper all over the place so if you live nearby pop in to Angletons.

Tomorrow we are off to NZ for the weekend.  We have seriously considered all the factors re. the virus and feel that if we are going anywhere NZ is very possibly the safest place to go and we will take masks (for whatever use they are), sanitisers and wipes with us.  It's to my nephew's "elopement" party ... he and his wife eloped to Tahiti at Xmas and, as her parents are over from Scotland they decided to have their wedding / elopement party whilst they were over.

Why not Marina?
I did my food shopping this morning. IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE MAD HOUSE. No toilet paper of course. So much stuff missing.  I hadn’t done any extra buying and this week I needed things like tissues, toilet paper, flour and a bit of other stuff. People are still buying like crazy here. I shop at the same place each week and one of the boss ladies in Woolworths whispered to me that they were getting more toilet paper at 12.  DD kindly went down and got her one packet for us.  😃😃😃😃
She said when they open at 8am there is a mad, squealing rush to get toilet paper.

Cookie, at first I thought it was funny , but now I think it is frightening.  I can still remember the rationing after the war and the coupons. Mum liked to cook but was only allowed so much flour , butter and sugar.  We were lucky that Dad was a butcher and the next door neighbour would ask Mum for dripping.  She used a lot. I think they ate a lot of fried bread.
I am making a Rye and Caraway SD loaf.

Supermarkets are getting low on all sorts of things . Got some meat to freeze , might buy some veggies plants if I can find any on weekend . Stewed pears as they are falling fast . Hopefully will do some and place in shearing shead freezer . Schools are putting a plan into action for the Virus . DH is getting a lot done and hopefully is going to be ok to have his opp done next week .

Stay well KAtie.
JulieO NZ is an incredibly beautiful place. We've been a couple of times and will hopefully go again one day.

Made a very nice quick dish for lunch. Curried Fried Rice. Adam Liaw recipe. Very nice. I used a pre cooked packet of rice and Ancient grains. Will certainly make again.
