What have you been doing today?

Rang Miele yesterday. Re packaging and sending ovens on Friday.  Should have the next week. Can’t wait.

The Ratatouille Lasagna was apparently a great success. The ricotta layer was very good.  300 g + ricotta, 1 very large egg, Parmesan cheese and lots of black pepper  . I also added 3/4 teaspoon of chilli flakes to the Ratatouille.

Chookie I love ratatouille sounds delicious. Did you get wall ovens Chookie ? I need to replace my smeg free standing oven ,that I love , but it’s really old like we got it maybe 15 years ago . So toady out of the loop what is in fashion now , things hav3 changed so much since then .
DD did more driving !! This time to collect DH from the paddock.

K Atie , replacing wall ovens that are probably 20 years old.  As they are the same brand, ( Miele) as those that are coming out so it should be easy.  I am also having a warming drawer.  We have to remove a drawer to fit this in.  I’m replacing the Microwave with a microwave combi oven which I can use as , microwave, convection oven or a combination of both.  As well as a steam oven.  Also separate or combined functions.

Beaver used a steam oven , what do you use it mainly for?

KAtie, probably use steam oven for bread, also just steam.  I do a lot of steaming in the Varoma.

I popped up to the local Westfield this morning as I needed a couple f things.

Very little done today. Made 1 lot of lemon lime and carrot marmalade.

I was forced to do some rabbit sitting this morning. DH went outside about 8am and there was a cute little rabbit. He picked it up and we did a bit of door knocking to see if anyone owned it. I also rang the ranger but he wasn’t interested. I eventually resorted to the local Facebook chat. Fortunately a couple of ladies on there helped me and I was able to message the owner. She rang me and her parents came to pick up the rabbit.
He was gorgeous, until I discovered him chewing the spine of one of my new books. He loved being cuddled (of course I obliged) and he enjoyed eating green foods.

I honestly don’t know what we would have done if we didn’t find the rabbit owner.

Local FB groups are great for that sort of thing cookie, in the meantime you were able to spend special time with the rabbit.  We have a local giveaway site plus one for plants, great for when we have clean outs and you get to meet the lovely locals.

I have the grand-dogs again as the kids have gone away for the school holidays. They’re very demanding of my time, especially my lap and their daily walks. Consequently I’m not getting much done and can’t even have a shower without them wanting to be close to me.

We went out in the old ute this morning for a coffee run. Lovely to sit and chat for a while. Many of the people that come on this run are from the Vintage Car club and a few of us from the Model A club.
