Katie, it's nice to see you on the forum again.

This afternoon I finished off a couple of hand made cards that I needed to get in the post this week.

Thanks everyone  :)

Katie lovely to hear from you. Glad you and Richard are ok. Ral sends his regards. Glad your guests enjoyed the Tarts. I now roll several sheets of pastry into rolls and freeze them, ready to be cut into rings.  I also make the custard a day or two ahead.

Chookie - Richard says hello!  Please pass on our regards to Ral.
I made the custard on Friday, then made the tarts on Saturday, and as we were so full we didn’t eat them until Sunday - they were still perfect on Sunday.  I’ll definitely be making them again  :)

Thanks Katie. Well done with the tarts.  I looked at my recipe on my blog and it was all jumbled up. Fixed now.
Cookie, good news about the skin care.
More Xmas cooking today. I have just seen a recipe for Oatmeal thins. Not too sweet. Might try them.

We had a coffee run this morning with our other car club. It's always great fun.
This afternoon I will possibly plan what I will cook for Christmas and bits I will put in the freezer.

I did my grocery shopping too. Each week I am constantly amazed at how much food prices are going up.
I have a Classic loaf rising and plan to do a fruit loaf and some biscuits.

Drove to Melbourne listening to audio book no L drivers for a change ! DH had the L drivers DS drove to his day in the shearing shed for Rist ag Certificate 11 in the manual Ute(the job was a good hour away )  . DH then collected DD and she drove the opposite direction to have DH car serviced !! DMIL collected them but DD drove her grandmother’s car all the way to collect DS . Now this ment back narrow country single roads , semi trucks coming towards you , ute with apparently someone that knew DD waving madly at her “ I was concentrating pulling off the road so much that I did not see who it was !” Funny yet terrifying . DH was Exhausted so he drove them all home he decided DS was not going to drive all four of them , good thing to as DS yawned all the way home , nothing like being a roustabout for a day to wear you out !

K Atie, I hate driving on single lane country roads.  Why are there so many big trucks using these roads?
I have nearly finished my Xmas cooking. Will deliver Ginger Sponge to hairdresser today and a Rhubarb tart to friend for his Birthday.

Hair cut, two new pairs of spectacles, dumped the CPAP and got a mouth appliance (new speak for a mouth guard) for my sleep aponea / snoring instead.  Hope it works because it wasn't cheap!

The reason for the big trucks on the small roads is harvest , they are generally the grain trucks . Thus the reason why the roads at home get large potholes too . Mind you lots of new road repair work lately also adds to easy wear to the soft new repair.
Did a little Xmas shop but nothing for immediate family opps !
DD apparently made dehydrated lemon in the oven .. they are black discs ! Yet a beautiful olive oil cake was made too. Immediately my response was please make some muffins for the boys and harvest , so they can go in the freezer! High hopes I have , everything is demolished before it gets into the freezer . Missing the kittens but think they are being loved yet not sure who is feeding Tommy!

Yesterday, hair cut then decided that we would have afternoon tea out. Ral had a yo-yo. ( not as nice as Mabs which are the gold standard), and I had a cheese and spinach scone. Awful. Don’t know how they can sell something so tasteless and gluggy in texture. Now I know why everyone raves about my scones which are Nay Nays recipe.
Ham and Smallgoods delivery today. I’ve made some Portuguese Custard Tarts , bag of biscuits and Pate as a gift. Sebastian always adds something to our order during the year.
Cleaning out chook shed today.

Had a very big spoiling by my girlfriends, lunch for about 20 . They baked lightly rumbled  salmon fillets  , salad and potatoes, little bread rolls . And a beautiful three layered cake with strawberry butter icing raspberries on top . DD made this , found out the cooking part was a strawberry reduction . Sunday hot day perfect . All the kids helped DS and mate served the champagne wine all day . Best part was seeing the kids who had not seen each other for a year catch up and chat .
