Katie I hope you are keeping safe, these fires are a big worry.

Yesterday we picked 3kg of tomatoes and took them to the op shop to sell.  Most went while we were talking to the ladies on duty.  We then did out weekly shop at the supermarket.

Today we picked another 3.5kg of tomatoes and sent them home with DS and DIL when they called in for morning tea.

This afternoon I have an appointment with the optition.

You must be sick of the sight of tomatoes, Margaret!  I am sure you will feel very virtuous in the months to come when you are eating the results of your own garden produce.

I’m very impressed with the success of your tomato growing Margaret. My Dad was good at it too and kept the family supplied as well as all the neighbours. I’ve not tasted a tomato as tasty as his since having to buy them.

Margret amazing amount of tomatoes that you are growing. Maybe I should make goal to grow them next year for our relish cook !! I might be dreaming .
With a very early start I was rushing to leave for hair cut , DH needed me to get bread and rolls for shearer’s . Quick drop off . Love having my hair done so relaxing and the best head massage. Food shop , iPad mini fix ! Grabbed a late lunch fir the road . Trip home was so so windy, dust haze . Not much top soil left ! The wool  shed stopped early due to just too hot . Honestly it was such a hit strong windy day 39 for most of the day . Thankfully it gradually cooled down a bit ! Who would think 32 felt cool . Dinner together and then as it had cooled a bit DH had to tend to the sheep .

I agree, KAtie, the head massage is always relaxing - but it doesn't last long enough!!

Thank you to all the brave people fighting the fires. I think everything to do with the management of the fires has improved,
Last night I went out with a neighbour for Dinner. There are several Cocktail bars in Ballarat, that serve food. 3 are owned by the same people. I’ve been to 2 and am not impressed. Last night, without asking , all the food was brought to the table at the same time. That is the shared starters and mains. The food was just ok.
Of the 3 meals that I have had out recently only one has been good and that was at a pub.

That’s very disappointing Chookie.
I’ve had a very quiet day. I’ve had a bit of a reaction to the shingles vaccination. All my bones ache something horrid. Nurofen is good stuff.

Sorry to hear your reaction to the shingles vaccination, Cookie, hope it clears very soon.

I visited my surgeon regarding my broken bone, torn ligament, etc.  I didn't realise the extent and repercussions of the damage. There was talk of metal plates and screws!  I've got to go for a CT scan and am now hobbling about in a moon boot.  Ah well, I guess I have a bit of a challenging time ahead, but I am much luckier than many so I cannot moan.  The bright side is that we discovered the surgeon is a customer of ours!

Cookie you’re the first person I’ve heard of to have had a reaction to the shingles jab. Hopefully things will settle down soon.

Marina I guess not having the problem diagnosed until recently has just delayed the inevitable. Good luck with what lies ahead, love the surprise of finding out who your surgeon is.

Cookie, not good. Did you have a reaction to the first jab.?  I had red swelling for 2 weeks after the first jab. Wasn’t sore.
Oh Marina, good and bad news. How on earth did you put up with it?

Cookie I'm sorry to hear about your reaction to the shingles vaccination.
Marina I hope the surgeon will be able to fix your foot for you.

Thanks for your thoughtful wishes everyone.  I have a CT scan on Monday and will see the surgeon in a week or so.

I am now hobbling about on a super-dooper moon boot - I reckon I look like a storm trooper from Star Wars!

After yesterday, we had a fantastic day today - our neighbour purchased a very generous gift voucher for DH's 70th birthday last year for  a small restaurant called Jack Rabbit near Portarlington on the Bellarine peninsula.  So,today we went for lunch.  It was a perfect day, exactly the hoped for warm day, clear skies and a flat calm, bright blue harbour which our table overlooked.  A wonderful day after yesterday's news.

It sounds like a much needed perfect day to me Marina.

I’ve been checked out by my Optician for reading glasses and had visitors this afternoon.

This was my first shingles vax. I didn’t have any reaction to my last Covid, I think it swapped to shingles.
Marina your poor foot sounds sore . I hope it can be fixed easily.

Chookie what a relief to not be gluten intolerant. I would be devastated if that happened to me.
We have a long weekend so that will be fun.

Marina, what a lovely day. Happy Birthday to your DH for his 70 th.
Cookie, the gluten free episode was truly awful. Ingredients and recipes have improved but still couldn’t find any really good substitutes. When I ate a slice of my home made bread I thought I’d gone to heaven.
