Marina , hopefully it will be ok DH is checking it all the time . Back to yoga today , think I’ll be sore tomorrow, very big stretches . But good to get back to it . I was meant to clean and cook this arvo but I feel asleep and then lost all enthusiasm.

Starting to stress now about my operation next week.  I've been practicing with crutches for the past couple of days and just cannot seem to be able to use them correctly.  I have very little upper body strength and am somewhat overweight - the combination is not good for non-weightbearing mobility support.  I think I am going to have to get a knee scooter so that I can move around once I am back from hospital.

Marina they will teach you how to use the crutches and possibly get the correct height for you . We put like foam noddles on them to make it easier too. There are different types of crutches it takes awhile to get use to it . A knee scooter will help when out and about .

As you have said, K Atie, I am anticipating that the physio will help with the crutches - I have got both types - elbow and full length so I have a choice.  I ordered a knee scooter today though, they are not as expensive as I had thought they would be.  My main worry is that I have got a 20 step staircase that I have to scramble up when I get home and that will be a huge challenge for me - scrabbling up on my backside!!  Ah well, what will be will be, no use getting wound up about it all.  I am finding it nigh on impossible not to use my foot and I must just do my best.

Thinking of you Marina. Can you sleep down stairs?

Marina I can understand your concern. I think I would be hopeless with crutches.  A friend had a staircase at his place when he had a hip replacement. He mentioned it to the Physio and she showed him the best way to negotiate it. Take care.

Unfortunately sleeping downstairs would not work for us - I would have to set up in the showroom and I don't think it would be a 'good look' when customers come in to find me lying down in bed  ;D - the other option is the workshop - I guess the guys could use my bed for storage of items waiting for repair!!  :o  My mind boggles at the thought.

Cookie thanks for your comment re. the physio helping your friend with stairs.  I will definitely follow through on that.

DH marched today for the first time. He had to be in the city by 8am, which meant leaving home at 7.15am. Then I had to negotiate the streets that were closed for the March. We managed it all ok.

My knee scooter arrived yesterday - what fun - I could get into a lot of trouble with this zipping around the place.  DH is concerned because I am so accident prone!!

A friend had an operation on her ankle and used a knee scooter. She said it was a big help.
