The idea is to place the dry ingredients in a jar and attach a tag with the cooking instructions printed on the back. I have taken photos of the three pages in the book you need to make the Festive Cranberry Orange Biscuits.

Packing my float, heading south tomorrow with my spotty horse, friend and her horse for a weekend of cutting. Leaving gorgeous girls and hubby home to fend for themselves!
Just realised I have not even thought of cooking several different meals to leave for them for the one night I am away.  :o
Gosh...I don't even feel guilty!
Will see what the reaction is when I get home Sunday night.!

Hally your MIL would be moved to quarantine because the treatment will leave her immune system impaired. It is probably only a precaution to protect her from the other patients in the hospital.

We have gone through similar things with inheritance. After DW's mother passed away her siblings were very worried because they couldn't find the most recent will. The only will they had was from before her last husband passed away and his children were included in the will. The stupid thing was that she had nothing.

I hope that DH's family all come to their senses. Take care of yourself, CP will need you, try and not let all of this get to you too much so that you have your strength to be there for him.

Hally having been through this ( although we didn't fight too much) the very best thing is for you DH to put it all in the hands of a solicitor experienced in these matters. When Mum died I was executor and I simply passed everything onto a lovely lady. She kept us all informed of what she was doing and the will was followed legally and exactly.  To be truthful we didn't fight about it but that was the best and legal way to do it.

So sorry to read all these problems H.
Money is divisive, and inheritance even more so. It will sadly always be so, because of human nature.
Inheritance is never guaranteed, one should never count on it, sometimes the cats home gets the lot.

Expert advice is a good idea. If your MIL signed anything now it would not be legal as it sounds as if her mental capacity is impaired.
Try to get funding to pay for things for foster boy if possible, whatever you decide.
How is your shoulder, hope you are taking care of yourself too?

Lovely cookies and pressies everyone.
I know I started this thread and I love it but being busy just now it takes ages to wade through. Apologies if missed anything. :)

Judy, I'm ashamed to say that I haven't made anything out of it yet. I must remedy that ASAP
I should make at least one recipe from every cookbook I have, or they shouldn't deserve a place on my shelf!

Huge to everyone who's going through stressful periods, especially Hally and to astarra, too.

We're meant to be harvesting, but the weather keeps playing tricks on us. One day it's hot and windy and there's a harvest ban, then the next it's raining. Break downs don't help.
Love the book Gifts for the Cookie Jar. I'm giving home made gifts to my girlfriends this year. So far (whoops, can't say, secret Santa!). I'd like to do the Cookies in A Jar for them too, so I'll see if that book is in Kindle.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Hally hugs.. People annoy me when they bicker amd fight about money.. I have always told my family to spend their money and enjoy life as it is their money and im not interested in inheritience... It seems to bring the evil out of people... I hope they come to their senses and focus on who is importamt ie your ill mil.. So sad and the last thing dh needs :(

Money, families, inheritance, seems to bring out the worst of people. :o

It's so very true and heartbreaking . . .

Hally, my heart really goes out to you and your DH . . . somehow, you need to find some strategies to help you let go of the stress from day to day otherwise you'll end up getting really sick yourself.  A very dear friend of mine has a favourite saying that  she'll always throwing to me . . . .  "This, too, shall pass . . ."

It used to make me grit my teeth at times particularly when I was in the middle of a crisis -  But yes,   it does pass - you just have to drastically reduce speed and drive very carefully around those blind never ending hairpin bends that the other family members are dishing up to you at the moment. . .

Please be good to yourself - it's a bit like the oxygen mask in the plane . . . you need to stay strong and healthy so you look after and support your DH and CP . . . we're all thinking of you and right behind you . . .  :-*  and the advice from the others about getting some sound legal help is spot on!
