I wouldn't want to go cross country in the dark either Michele.
Hope you are feeling better today.  :)

I have been grocery shopping and am babysitting as DIL is working

Rainbow we are going to Monkey Mia for our annual'holiday' in May and will be going to Birdsville at the beginning of August. The Birdsville trip will only be about a month.
I hope you are enjoying your trip. The Great Ocean Road has such beautiful scenery and the Otway Ranges (?) are inspiring.

Thanks Marie.  :)

Rainbow and Cookie you have done some wonderful trips with more planned - definitely a benefit of being retired, you can take off whenever you feel like it.

it is hot again today cookie and the same for the next few days

today Lily and I cleaned dd20's room whilst she's off shopping in Melbourne for the week that was our whole morning ::)
then we made some cupcakes and while Lily is having a rest I'm doing the one bathroom since the kids has been totally ripped out in preparation for the tradies.  I hate renovating.

I also have my car in at the smash repairers replacing my door that some little bugger wrecked trying to break in when we were at the beach having a picnic again luckily dd isn't here so I'm driving her brand new car but geez it's small Mazda 3 compared to my Chrysler grand voyager ::)

You've been busy Suzanne. The Mazda 3 is a very nice car - lucky daughter to have such a swish car at a young age.
How great will it be to have a new bathroom, well worth the mess and sharing 1 bathroom.  :)

it is lovely to drive but oh so small personally I didn't have a problem with the kids old bathroom but dh wanted to put a door from Lily's room into the bathroom so she has a semi en suite more for when she's older so he thought let's rip the whole thing out and start again::) sharing with the 3 younger ones is very trying and it's only been a week :-[

At least the Mazda would be easier to park.

Day off today, took kids to the park to meet some friends then had to dash across town to babysit for a friend so she could go to Uni for the afternoon - school hols here, but Uni on a different schedule. Luckily she has a Thermomix, so made a batch of butter chicken (planned ahead). Had to leave some for their dinner, her kids kept coming into the kitchen saying "ooh is that butter chicken I smell?" 😉
