I went to a retirement gathering this afternoon. It was lovely as I caught up with people I hadn't seen for quite a while. It was lovely to see a good friend retire.

Yes the vicks on the feet is something that got me through the night last night. The only thing that worked! Praise God for all you Mums and the internet really. I'd never heard of it until recently but it basically kicked in straight away.

Glad it works for someone, I've had sticky vicky socks in bed this week but nothing happens!

Last day of holidays today so meet DH in St Kilda after he rode there and had a lovely lunch at the Stokehouse with a couple of wines, then all went to dinner at our local Thai restaurant before DS basketball game. Was a lovely day before the madness of work on Monday.

Ferrying kids around today. DD9 had netball this morning, a win yay! Then home to pick up DD7 who was playing next door. Walked dog, housework then took DD9 to friends place for a slumber party - I so feel for those parents lol. Mind you, we have girl from next door here ATM and she's staying the night so I could be in the same boat. It's her first ever sleepover & she's a bit anxious, but her mum & I figured staying next door was a good start - not far to go if she wants to go home!

Tonight I was invited to Katie & her DH's place for tea - lovely pork roast with all the trimmings, a baked coconut custard with peaches for dessert and a few glasses of wine ;D  Thanks for a lovely evening with you and the dogs guys and for the little extras you sent home with me Katie - a big slice of lasagne, some new season's persimmons and some Ikea zip lock bags.  Katie knows how to spoil me  :-* :-* :-*

Oh, almost forgot, dear Richard fixed a few little problems on my computer too.  Got to love our computer helpers too.

What a lovely evening Judy. Thank you Katie and Richard for spoiling JD, you are both so kind.  :-*

Debating whether or not to go to the markets today, it's not actually raining but will be very damp under foot. Will do a drive by and see how many stalls there are.

Whew, I never had a second to post yesterday, but it was a GREAT birthday party day for DS yesterday.

We got up in the morning and headed to football.  And he scored the first goal of the game, and his first in-game goal ever!   ;D
Then it was home for the final preparation for the party.  I had to adjust the treasure hunt to be indoors because it was very rainy.
So we had:
Decorating calico bags (they LOVED this and were very focused)
Pass the Parcel
Treasure hunt, with a "treasure chest" (cash box) at the end with balloons, party poppers, bouncy balls etc to share out
"Slime" game - how much slime can you get into your cup in 3 minutes?
There was a bit of dancing and balloon chasing in between.
Then afternoon tea, then presents, then cake number one!
It was a blast.
Then before the last guest left, the first of the family members arrived for the dinner edition!
Another few hours of fun all around - cake number 2 was a big hit - will have to check if the recipe's on here somewhere...
The kids weren't in bed until nearly 9pm!

I'm glad we don't do them all the time, but it was pretty fun - and mostly cleaned up as we went, so just one washing basket of recycling to sort out, and one more load in the dishwasher.

Funnily enough, DS was more excited and got up earlier today - he couldn't wait to play with his toys!

We're off to Mum's today to see her before she heads to Melbourne for her holiday tomorrow!
Jo
