Sorry to hear about your dog Amy. It is always devastating to lose a pet.
You did bring a smile to my face this morning ;D. I sat down for breakfast at my neighbour's house and there was an envelope addressed to me on my plate, that had been incorrectly delivered to their house instead of mine. It was a beautiful, hand made Christmas card from you!
Thank you so much.
I've had a busy day baking and crafting. I made vegetarian sausage rolls, meat sausage rolls, mince pies, vanilla slice and crafted something for DH to take to work tomorrow for his SS. I also went to the market this morning which took twice as long as usual as we did lots of chatting LOL. I did the baking for our street Christmas party this evening, which was great fun. It all got eaten except for 1 small square of vanilla slice. Mind you,  I almost had a disaster with the vanilla slice as I forgot to add the butter into the custard, and it was really rubbery. I got distracted by the kids who were putting up a tent in the back yard, and trying to organise sleepovers. I ended up removing the custard, adding the butter, heating it up again and whiz zing it all together. Luckily it worked and the texture of the custard improved dramatically, and it tasted delicious.  :)

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry to read of your loss. Pets are such special members of the family. I think you can take comfort in the fact that she was so well loved, and had such a happy home with you. Many animals are not so lucky.
Hugs to you and your family,
Sue xx

Amy - I know what it's like to hang on to that hope that there will be some miracle.  Take comfort in that your lovely dog was surrounded by those who loved her.  I'm so sad for you and your family.

I know it's early days yet, but is another dog/puppy an option at the moment?

Its still sinking in Hally. I think it will take a while to realise that she won't be running around the house or tearing up the backyard ever again :(

Thanks for all you lovely comments everyone :-* It was an emotional time last night because it was the first time in five years that Sophie didn't come for a walk with us :'(
I guess there will be more times like that when we realise just how often she was there with us, and now she won't be.

CC, the Rainbow Bridge is gorgeous. I might print it out and hang it up somewhere :-*

GF, for as long as I can remember, we've always had two or three dogs. We've never had only one dog. So I think we might look at adopting a young dog in the new year.

I think I might collect a few of the nicest photos of Sophie and get them framed as my Christmas present to the family :)

ES, I'm glad you like the Christmas card :-*

Hugs Amy, your other dog will need time to grieve the loss of his mate / partner in crime  :) Give him time to adjust to the changes with  lots of love and special time with him.
Thinking of you.
Nikki.
