Oh Hally - there are no words.  I'm really feeling for you.  Remember, just one day at a time.  As Maddy said, it's a really tough call.

Oh Hally I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL.
DS was very close to my dad and saw him regularly even when in pain and high on meds. He doesn't remember a lot of that, just the good times he had with him. DS wanted to see pop as much as possible and I let it happen. Didn't want him to hate me later for not letting him see pop. DS saw pop go from good to bad and I think this helped him understand and come to terms with pop dying. He actually asked me one day if pop was going to die. I had to say yes but I didn't know when, but could be soon. One day DS even said that wasn't his pop, his pop had left long ago and this also helped. It also helped my dad as when he heard DS voice, his eyes would open. He knew we were all there.
But every child deals with things differently. What does CP want to do?
Hugs and kisses DG xxxx

Children need to know their grand-parent is really ill but whether they need to see them is up to you Hally.  As CP doesn't see a lot of his nanna because of living in different States, perhaps it's better he remember her as he last saw her.  You and DH will decide what is right for him, maybe with some input from CP himself.

Its a hard one, mil has horible growths on her head & neck.

Last time cp saw his nanna was a year ago for a wedding, we spent a week there, he had a great time with her & all his cousins. Happy memories.

Dh will be going to melb, not sure about us, see how she goes in the next few days.

We havent spoken to cp yet, its a bit hard with eb here. Eb leaves sunday for a week then is meant to come back, but at this stage I dont know what we are doing.

Hally my situation was different. DS saw his pop a couple of times each week and it was important to keep that up. No matter what you decide I know it will be the best for you all.

That's so rough Halex - and kids react so differently.  Hopefully you can have a good chat with him soon and he might tell you what he'd rather do.

Today we have been shopping for DS's school supplies - getting in early, but he likes to know things are sorted (like his mum).  So we've bought all the books & stationery. Then we've made shrinky-dink keyrings - DS has to have a USB memory stick, so made a name tag to put on it. :D

ES that looks so good - and I'm not a beach person!
In saying that - I am taking my spotty horse to the beach tomorrow morning. Leaving at 5.30am to get down to Kwinana, will take just over an hour to get there. We'll have a couple of hours playing and then some morning tea and come home.
I hope it is as calm as your pic  :)
And no sharks would be nice too  :o

I've been sewing this afternoon!  A dress for my niece's 3rd birthday later this month...I'm hoping to also make some matching hair accessories before then to go with it.
Can be worn with the bow tied in front or back.  Fabric colours chosen by my kids  ;D
