LOL mcmich. That is probably someone's ancestral home....
Ours is modest in comparison and we came in the car.
If I was renovating that I'd need the lottery win and nerves of steel. Frankly, I have neither... :-))

We have two more weather warnings for tomorrow and Sunday. But I think they are more for the coast, however more rain is forecast onto the saturated land.

Edited: just seen the news. Devon and Cornwall are set to have a mix of very high tide, gales and torrential rain bringing potential loss of life. Thinking of everyone down there and under threat.
PS The heavy rain has just started here again tonight.

Looking past the flood waters, the countryside is so beautiful. I always enjoy looking at photos that you and CC post.

Buying on a hill was a wise move DJ, glad you are free from flooding but some poor blighters must be suffering with all that rain.  The world has gone crazy weatherwise.  Stay warm and dry  :-* :-*

Looks like a beautiful part of the world DJ, despite the flooding.
Today I've been weeding, sorting out cupboards and a bit of grocery shopping. Right now I'm putting off tackling the next cupboard, though I must say it's pretty rewarding to open a finished cupboard and find loads more space. Finally found a home for my 6 in 1 cooker, only took me about 6 months! :)

DJ thanks for the photos. Like CP I find the photos from you and CC fasciunating. (Yvette too at the moment).
The water in that river is flowing very fast. Does it all go out to sea or to a lake or something? I am very glad you are on a BIG hill. Take care.

DIYing our lounge room.

Anybody in Perth used a good aircond installer before? The twits we used a few years ago caused leaks in our kitchen ceiling 😠

I do know a good young lad. I first met him when he was about 8. I will try and get his details and send them to you. I believe he can be expensive so I won't be offended if you don't use him.

Thanks everyone.
Oh BZB you make me feel very at home to see more Reno pics.

Just watching the news, the coastal high tides are very high.

Today is a Severn bore day....          http://www.severn-bore.co.uk for more info.

Cookie the river Wye flows into the river Severn at Chepstow. There is a very interesting castle at Chepstow.
The river starts in Wales and runs for a long way. It is possible to canoe 100 miles along it in safer conditions.

CP and Suzanne am so glad you like the countryside hopefully we will get lots of overseas visitors who want to see the countryside.  ;D

Another 'Big' on the way - Ozzie the Mozzie - Unfortunately our own Lake Macquarie Big Prawn was damaged in the recent fires.
