Oh astarra you poor thing I hope you have lots of helpers xx

today I put flanelette sheets on everyone's beds and vacuumed the gas log heater out,  it's been very cold here (for me anyway:-[ ) and now I'm suffering from some sort of seasonal mood disorder, I also cleaned the bathrooms and bedrooms and made some cinnamon scrolls which were okay not my usual recipe, don't know why I try different ones when the one I always use is perfect!

Was it a Colles Fracture Astarra?

You will probably manage better with a cast on as you will not be moving your wrist and the pain will lessen as it heals. Still going to be a pain in the bum though. Be sure to check the cast in Day or two for any sharp bits and that it is not too tight around the fingers. In about 4 weeks you will no doubt need to replace the cast.

Might be time to reflect on normal habits , slow down and let the housework go for a bit . You may find it is not as important as you think. LOL! My bet is that no one will even notice what has not been done.

I think you are spot on Gert. I spent many times agonizing over my home and now 30yrs down the track, I know I can't remember what house work I did or didn't do - probably due to the alzheimer's and I bet my children don't remember either.

Yes I thought I was super woman  with DH  away a lot, me working shift work including nights, studying and trying to keep the house pristine. I had no family or friends to help and thought I could do it all.  I used to curse the women's movement for saying we could do it all and  have it all. Just ain't so . I should have had a cleaner at least. There was no respite. 24/7 work work work.  It actually achieved nothing special except exhaustion.

Trying to wrangle the whole thing is ridiculous. None of my family cared a fig about the house being pristine or three beautiful meals a day. Even today at  age 44 and 47 they say I should have let it all go to pot as  they were happy with casseroles,  sausages and leftovers  and never changing their sheets. LOL!

Astarra, take note of Gert's good advice and be kind to yourself for a change.  ;)
Judy, I've always barracked for Port. The things I took to the op shop were not bad, just very underused. I can only remember using the soup tureen once, when a French student cooked us dinner, and we had 3 wine decanters but very rarely use even one, so the cut crystal one went to the op shop. There was a fruit salad bowl with 4 matching serving bowls that I can't remember using, a vase that you couldn't put water in plus another vase still in its original wrapping ( I got about 10 vases for my 21st), plus a glass carafe with a matching glass and a few other things besides. I hope someone else can use these things as they were only collecting dust in my cupboard, and the RSPCA may make a little cash in the process.

Astarra only do the absolute necessities, like food on the table and the washing. Take it easy.

Like you mab I spent the morning dropping forms off at a government office. I didn't enjoy one moment of it. I found 50% of the staff rude, the place smelled, and I guess I was lucky-I was only kept waiting for 1 1/2 hours. Just to drop forms off.  :-\ :-\

Good on you Sue. Some people will be delighted when they get a bargain at the op shop. I have had a couple of wins recently at the op shops.

Bureaucrats really test my patience cookie.
