The one Ted is holding is a beautiful an amethystine Python and the one in the background that I  later draped myself in is a 17 year old lovely old girl and was soooo heavy. We also go to hold an alligator. We got up close a personal with a variety of venomous snakes. The are really beautiful  critters.

Such courage Gert & DH, it's not something that's on my bucket list  ;D  I haven't passed my weak gene onto DD2 though, she draped herself in a snake on our first cruise when she was 10 years old.  I love how DH is keeping an eye on that snake  :D

Great photo Gert, what a great experience. Don't think I could do it. I much prefer to look from a distance.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

Snakes at a distance for me too after almost stepping on a tiger snake when playing golf with DH many years ago.
Lovely photo of DH Gert.

So much to catch up on as I have only been on the forum for a few minutes in the last month or more. Where to start  ???

Yes, lovely to see you MF - not long now.

I've just exhausted myself out in the garden pulling up all the daisy bushes which have seen better days.  Green bin is full and the rest are down the side of the house awaiting their turn.  It's only going to get hotter here over the next few days so I bit the bullet today.

I am not really frightened of them  but it is hard for me to tell the difference between a Taipan and a brown tree snake on first glance so not so sure about those!  The larger Python was totally loveable. I have a VDO of her at my feet sniffing my handbag which was on the ground. She was really huggable. I can see why people like to keep them as pets.

Thankyou all for your condolences. It's been a really tough week. However today everything is seeming much lighter and I assume it will again once we honour her life. I went shopping with my sis yesterday and had a lovely time and today I picked up my parents from the airport. Fish and chips with them tonight.
