DH has been cleared of Covid. He gets the results of the scan on Thursday.
Marina I would hate a stress test very much. I have heard that they can do them without you having to exercise.  They do it electronically or something. Maybe it is only a dream, but I’m sure that I read it somewhere.
DH’s cold is still not the best. He has really copped it this time.
You're right, Cookie, there is an alternative, but I wasn't sure how I felt about it so opted for the stress test.  Judy, hope mine is only 6 minutes - in my opinion that is way too long for comfort!!

K Atie, poor DD.  That is really horrid driving on that freeway to Melbourne.  Very very stressful.
First appointment , face to face with Diabetes Nurse Educator.
Our GP has shifted into a new building. It is about 30 minutes easy drive.  It will provide lots of other services as well as Medical. It is in one of the many satellite developments around Ballarat. Nearby is a new big shopping Center.  ;D

That sounds good Chookie, it will house different allied health specialists by the sound of it which is very handy.  Mine is within walking distance.

You’re very brave allowing DD to drive on a freeway at this early stage K Atie but she got through the experience and will be all the better for it.  Why those behind her couldn’t pass is strange, surely it wasn’t a one lane freeway.

An uncle-in-law in Sydney way back in 1965 showed us how he dealt with that problem. One foot on the accelerator and a quick, light touch on the brake with the other used to scare the s..t out of those travelling up his backside. Not recommending that to anyone though as these days we have road rage problems we didn’t have back then.

My Dad mentioned that to me many years ago too Judy. I have done it many times. Just enough to get them to hang back a bit. IO do agree about the road rage bit though. It is very frightening.

We went out for coffee this morning with the car club. Most of us took our modern cars.

If I am tailgated on a highway and cannot get out of the way of the tailgater I do the touch the brakes trick as well but also simply leave more room in front of me to compensate if there is an emergency ...the only problem is,as soon as there is a space the person behind ducks into the other lane then gets into the space in front of me and sits on the back bumper of the next poor soul. Somehow you can always tell the drivers who are going to do this so I pull back even a bit more.

I was once tailgated on the way to Bendigo.  I took the reg number and went to the police station.  They said it is best to ring them as they can wait for the truck and stop them.  Only good if prepared to waste 1/2 a day.
Other thing I have done is just pull over and let them pass.

When we are caravanning if we get tailgaters, or too much of a queue behind us we always pull over. We usually radio trucks up and say we will ease up a bit to l et them pass. We usually only tow at 90-95kmh so when it is clear they have the power to pass.

I did my grocery shopping this morning. DH didn't come, even though the car club is closed for lockdown at the moment, he went over to a friends to help him change the engine in his Model A.

MIL is 93 today. Tyhe nursing home didn't really want DH to go down when he rang this morning as they have a 'respiratory outbreak.'
He said he would wear a mask (we have to at the moment anyway) and he was coming.

I had my hair cut this afternoon and then did some grocery shopping.

Judy, DH rang the nursing home and basically said he was coming down. They ummed and Arged a bit but he said it’s her 93d birthday and I’m coming. They were fine with it.
This morning we went to the GP and got the results of DH’s calcium CT scan. His plaque build up is average for his age. The GP seemed ok with that. He is very good so we go with what he said.

gosh thank you  for the advice re tailgating.
We have both had heaps of appointments in Melbourne. Dentist for both and my glasses fixed . DD is recovering from months of ulcers, so we saw a specialist who was very helpful . Another one re an iron deficiency, but they are on holidays so that’s a pain . I was late having my calcium 6 months injection so a dash to pick up injection and the back to the nurse to have it . By the time we finished today DH suggested not to come home late so early start am to get home to organise DS for his school camp in the mountains.
