Yesterday we managed to get an emergency appointment at the vet. Budgie has got so thin. She was eating but it was going straight through her. She spent the weekend under DD’s pony tail.  She has been taking her medicine but it hasn’t helped. DD chatted with the vet, who is really lovely and said perhaps euthanasia may be the best. The vet agreed that she was at a loss as how to continue treatment and it wasn’t effective. DD and DH said goodbye to her and I stayed with her and cuddled and talked to her (while crying) as she went to sleep and died. I’m not sure why I did that but I felt I wanted to.
So on happier news we will be looking for another budgie in a while.

Cookie, I am sorry to hear about your little Budgie, it is so sad when we have to have our pets put to sleep.

Sad news cookie, we become so attached to our pets. I like your decision to stay with her until the end, good on you.

I agree with Judy, it is so sad when a pet that we have love dies.  It was lovely that you stayed with her, it helps you at a time when you are feeling sad and upset.

Cookie, how sad for the whole family. Hope you find another little bird soon.
Yesterday was very busy. Probus AGM , ( I’m now on Committee as a general dogs body). Did battle with Bupa for 2 hours over Ambulance account. What a waste of time with incompetence.
Today ,visit to Dentist. DD is replacing all the dark fillings with white ones. This is the last one. The appointment is for 1 1/2 hours. I know I won’t feel a thing as she gives me a good dose of anaesthetic. This takes a long time to take effect. She will do other small stuff while waiting. She won’t accept payment so I’m paying for her and GD to fly to Adelaide with me.

Thank you all.
I had my hair cut today. A different girl cut it today as the person who has been doing it disappeared. They can’t get in touch with her. One even visited her house. She is a little bit different, so I will have to wait until my next appointment to find out what happened. A big mystery.

It’s been a huge week . I manage to spend a night with GF at the beach we swam in the surf and it was exhilarating !! A quick house ready for guests a dash to beachside book club home . DH and I went town to unfortunately our beautiful friends son’s funeral. A very hard day . DH had appoint the next day and I had another funeral but a beautiful friend of my mum and myself. Last night I rested my head to hear the annual doof doof music ! Of a local huge music festival.. long weekend vibes !! Today we get to see DD again on way to SA for a 21st , oh to be young .

Not a lot. It was lovely and cool here today. I think it only got to 27°.

While the warm weather lasts I’m washing everything in sight. Baking  is a delight now I have endless AC with the Solar. I’m proving bread outside in the warmth and baking inside in the cool. Crazy!!

There was a rain shower last night - only c. 30 minutes, but what a beautiful sound on the roof.

We missed it, unfortunately.
