Okay, so I was dishing up the steamed vegies tonight, and a piece of cauliflower rolled onto one of the plates and it had a slug on it. Yes, a slug :o

I always wash my vegies. How on earth did I miss a fat grey slug on white cauliflower?!

It gets worse though.

I was so shocked that I just flicked it and it went flying into the dining room, where the carpet is grey. So now there is a steamed slug on our dining room carpet, and I can't find the bloody thing anywhere :-[

I know I can count on you guys to support me and not laugh at this dreadful situation I am in... :-))

I'm sure I'll be able to laugh a bit more when I find the damn thing and can stop stressing that I might stand on it. Do you think that since its steamed, it wont go squish if I stand on it by accident? Maybe its like a little rubber slug.

Well it will definitely be firm Amy but until you tread on it, we really won't know.  Have you been down on your hands and knees looking for it?  Are you sure it went there and not onto someone elses plate  ???

I'm glad everyone is enjoying this drama. So I will enlighten you all with the latest development :-))

My boxer dog is currently wearing a similar expression to the one in the picture Gert posted. Can you guess yet?
Well, I just went into the dining room and she was chewing something. It looked like she had whatever it was stuck in her teeth but she managed to get it down the hatch before I could catch her.

I don't know if it was the slug or not. I still haven't found it anywhere else so I guess it must have been?

How gross.

But it does prove that steamed slugs are a bit rubbery.
