Hi! from Annette
« on: July 01, 2012, 11:35:14 am »
Hi - I'm another newbie. Have had my TM31 for just over a week now.  There are just my hubby and I at home these days.  Main reasons for purchase are that I cook a lot of stir fries and curries and want to eliminate the "bottled" premixes and all the additives from our diet.

Also am hoping that the TM will come with us in our caravan when it arrives in about 6 weeks. Can anyone tell me how power hungry the TM is - we'll be going off road and using battery/generator at times. My consultant advised to store the TM on its side when travelling so as not to cause any damage to the scales.

I adapted my first "normal" stir fry recipe by following the method from a similar recipe in the TM Everyday recipe book. Recipe turned our really well. I also loved the bolognese sauce that I made from the recipe book - fabulous result!!

I think I'll have to buy the Indian  recipe book. Looking fwd to making bread too and using the Thermomat.

Hi Annette, welcome to the forum. A new caravan and a thermomix - you have done well. You and the thermomix are going to become firm travelling friends by the looks of it.

Hi Anette and welcome to the forum. I know there are some other caravaners who have taken their TMs with them when on holiday. I'm sure they will be able to help more.

Thanks everyone for the welcome messages. I have ordered the Indian cookbook. Has anyone got the Changing Habits Changing Lives book? It sounds interesting. I'm definitely interested in healthy and exciting food. I cooked the Thai Red Curry out of the EDC book tonight and it was a huge success!! So much easier than the conventional method.

Thanks in anticipation....

Hi Annette. We take the TMX away with us all the time in our van. To be able to use it with a generator you will need 'clean' power and enough power to allow the TMX to heat.(this is what uses the power). We have a Honda 2000.( I think that's what it is called) and that is fine with the TMX. It's not overally noisy either.
By the way - welcome. :D
