I haven't read anything over the past few weeks other than magazines as no time to really get into a book.
I am like you Gert. I keep adding to my kindle collection and now have around 40 unread  books .  :)
Still look on the kindle store and of course I find another  ;)

Gert, I gave up on my online subscription to Vanity fair since I was not enjoying it as much as the paper version. Call me strange...even I can't understand it.

Really enjoying The Elephant Kepper's Children by Peter Hoeg. Fabulous quirky book by a Danish author.

My daughter keeps buying me the  paper version. One year it is the English version and the next it is the US version. I do prefer the paper version though I can download the US version as well as for nix. i think I prefer mags  in paper as I like to pass them around .

There is a lot of  things to read in Vanity Fair once you wade through the ads and  the wanker self indulgent American social crapola.

Also I always find a book I want to read from one of the articles.

Just started "The 100 year old man who jumped out of  the window and disappeared"

I'll be keen to hear your opinion CP - that one is on my list.

Gert - similar problems with my Kindle, although I've always enjoyed Julian Fellows writing.

CP I saw that book in Dymocks this morning. If you enjoy it I may use one of my gift vouchers.

Nothin wrong with chick lit occasionally, especially on holiday.

Just finished "The Dinner" by Herman Koch.

A much hyped book compared to "We Need to Talk About Kevin", but a poor shadow of that novel.

Implausibly contrived, and predictable, but had some clever and witty prose.  The descriptions of the pretentious meal were amusing.

I read another Donna Leon book set in Venice, and then today I have just finished Flock by Lyn Hughes. The cover describes it as "A seductive novel of family, destiny, love and wallpaper". I really enjoyed it. I even visited the authors' website and there was a link to a video that showed all of the wallpapers that are described at the beginning of each chapter. Now I want to hang wallpaper in my house :o
