Yesterday I finished reading "Consider the Fork" a history of the tools we use to cook and eat. It starts of with fire and wooden spoons and ends up with modern kitchens. A fascinating read.

I have looked at it before so this time I put it on my wish list.
I have also just received my program for the writers festival Amanda.

Gert - missed the Wired book for free
Deedub, I'm reading Gone Girl at the moment but I'm not enjoying it as much as I thought I would.

It wasnt until half way through that I started to get Gone Girl. I have to say that I did wonder if I was goint to continue with it. In the end I would say it was worth the read.

I'm about half way through Gone Girl and I'm totally sucked in! Very clever the way the characters and plot are unfolding - it did take me a while to get into it as well though.

I am ploughing my way through my book club book at the moment. The Blind Man of Seville, by Robert Wilson. It is taking me a while to read. I keep thinking I will give up but then things improve.

I've just finished ML Stedman's The Light Between Oceans, set in Augusta, WA in the 1930's. Great read, well written with beautiful descriptive language, something I don't always notice.
Now reading a random one Bloody Mary by LA Konrath. There's a series of these.
I've noted down all the recommendations and will be checking them out soon!

M L Stedman is one of the authors I want to hear in Adelaide. Loved that book Megan. beautifully written. Unfortunately she is on the same time as Edward St Aubyn so I will be walking between east and west stages as fast as I can every few minutes!

I have just started Gone Girl too, only into the second chapter and am finding my attention wandering, so I will keep going as it sounds like it gets better.
Before that I read Jonathan Kellerman's new one 'Guilt' which I enjoyed. Have read all his books and have enjoyed each of them.
