What book are you reading?

Just back from the wonderful writers festival in Adelaide.

Really enjoyed reading your wrap-up Gert. Sounds like a great festival. I loved the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency on tele. May have to think about a kindle to cope with all Andrew McCall Smith's books after that glowing recommendation.

Same here. I though it was a big fuss about very little.

I'm reading Colleen McCulloch's, Sins of the Flesh at the moment. Only finding it mediocre so far.

I have read couple of her books and found them twisted and not in a good way.

I have been re-reading "The Amtrak Wars" books by Patrick Tilley. A blast from the past because last time I read them I did not have children

Gosh, I had forgotten all about The Amtrak Wars - it seems so very long ago since I read them.

I would love to read all the Pern books by Anne McCaffrey again, but last time I looked they didn't have them all for kindle

A few weeks ago I read a very inspiring book called When the Dust Settles by Rob Cook (true story). Just finishing off an Agatha Christie, Mrs McGintys Dead; light reading but I love the Poirot and Miss Marple books. I love this thread as I am hearing of some good books I wouldn't find just browsing the library. Am still getting used to the ereader.

I ve read a few books lately, my favourite being Debra Adelaide's "The Household Guide to Dying". I enjoyed it so much that I also read a book of her short stories too. I've just finished an early Ian Rankin book - it was a spy story. I didn't enjoy it as much as his Rebus novels as I don't really like spy books but I really like his writing, so I thought it was worth a read.

Gert I live in the suburbs of Perth; actually I have just made your biscuits and when I get off this machine I am going to eat one as they smell great; cant wait until after dinner. After cooking and sewing I love reading and am still collecting recipe books and love to sit and just read them like any other book.

I have finished Agatha Christie (not all of them of course as there was about 80 in the set I got for the ereader) and have moved on to Arthur Upfield and one of his Bony stories about the Australian bush around 1930. I like paper books as well but some of them get a bit heavy to hold.

Ooooo that is on my wish list along with about 40 others! So little time and so many books!

I agree troupie. No good in the bath either.  at least I can hold the kindle with one hand and a glass in the other
