I'm even more convinced that I don't want anything to do with pressure cooking now.

I'm a bit disappointed with mine, but I've never had anything like that happen.  The knob is suposed to be wobbly.  If you have not browned first it can take a while to reach pressure (PO) and then the countdown starts.  The steam can be a bit scary when it releases but it shouldn't overflow, where did the water flow from?  The instruction book is useles isn't it.

I could not be bothered with it.. Plus it's something I would not want on my bench top so would  have to haul it in and out.

I love mine. I don't leave it on the bench as I like clear benches and have so little bench space.
I am giving away my huge electric frypan to one of the kids as I don't need a big pan these days and the electric pasta maker is being returned. That should be another bag or so filled.

I am hoping to love my pc.  Need some good success.
Mine lives on the living room floor along with the slow cooker & vacum sealer atm, no space.
Am thinking of getting shelves for the cupboard under the stars, then I can stre beaps there :)

Another great result for us last night with a last minute mild beef curry using chuck steak. All done and cleaned up in under an hour and the meat just fell apart, no need for knives even. A nice quick meal with rice on a very busy Saturday afterrnoon. I do have to get used to using less liquid when using a non pc recipe though. This was an old family favorite which we had tried in the slow cooker but it just didn't have the depth of flavour. It's such a shame some of you aren't having much luck with the pc's, we love ours.

I have one .....did you turn the lid to the lock position?
I know it will not get to pressure if there is not enough water to create enough steam but usually it will turn itself off . My steam valve is wobbly too I am sure that's how they are supposed to be .

Maddy I don't eat pork, but I think DH would love that!

I should clarify, I am not in love with my 5-in-1, I do love the pressure cooker function though.  Apart from the slow cooker (and I have one of those, dad fixed it just after I bought the 5-in1) everything else can be done in a PC or TMX.

Does anyone use the stainless steel bowl in their 5-in-1 I would rather but am a bit scared of things sticking, stovetop PC's are stainless steel aren't they?  Does food stick to them?
