Do you have a collection of things?
« on: July 29, 2012, 11:15:03 pm »
Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but I thought it would be interesting to find out what type of things some of us collect. Personally, I don't collect anything by my dh collects musical instruments - he's a bit of a musician.

I did collect dolphins many many years ago BEFORE it became popular to do so. Black then it was hard for people to source them for gifts!!

I collect vintage colored wine glasses.  I have them everywhere and happily buy just one if it catches my eye. We use them every day too. Just love crazy happy look of stacks of different glasses on the table together.

Haha I even paint them! Just a tad obsessed with them :)

Lots and lots of fabric.  It's in the sewing room, 2 bedrooms and a cupboard in the garage.  I am trying so hard to reduce it but it's not easy coz I like it all.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I collect coins :) I probably have a few hundred. My oldest one is from the 15th century, and I have some very special ones with engravings on them.

knittercook, I have some of my mothers old crochet patterns , some as far back as 1942, that I will never use.  I can crochet but mainly make bobbin lace.

Wedgwood, love it. My hubby loves buying it for me too!
Diamonds ... Hubby decided I should have a pink one (And was I gonna argue with that? No!) So he went to Linney's and had a ring made for me with a pink, 2 champagnes, 2 cognac's and 3 whites (normal ones).  It never comes off my finger I wear it all the time.

Toys and books for the kids from the opshops LOL! No, I don't collect now. I used to collect smart hats like Stetson and akubra. But they've turned into fancy dress now
