New To The Thermomix World
« on: August 06, 2012, 02:15:38 am »
Hi All

I'm just getting the hang of the Thermomix and developing some confidence in using my usual recipes and converting them to Thermomix.  It will I expect be trial and error.  I have one question, when creaming sugar and butter together for a cake, would you grind the sugar first then add the butter ( but the butter hasn't changed to a light colour) or insert the butterfly and whisk it together until light?

Hi & welcome to the forum aed.  I don't use the butterfly either, it is too hard to clean off all the butter afterwards.  Don't cream over speed 3 because it will fly all over the sides of the bowl - by keeping the speed lower, it keeps it around the blades and creams much better.

Welcome to the forum aed. There was a bit of trial and error for all of us when we started out.
I have a look at a similar recipe on the forum and use it as a guide for times etc for converting my own recipes.
Look forward to getting to know you.  :)

Welcome to the forum aed, I agree with the others when it comes to creaming sugar and butter. I think in must cases it pays to grind your sugar first before adding the butter. Your obviously doing well to start converting your own recipes. :)
