Hello! I feel like an imposter ;)
« on: August 06, 2012, 12:34:56 pm »
As I have a Thermochef  ;D But I'm sure I'll still be welcome here!

Thanks to a few things coming together like selling some stuff around the house, a sale at the retailers and a hefty credit note with them, I only had to pay $110 to take my TC Home.

This is really fantastic for us as we're a family of four on an income of one. My toddler and I have dairy issues and she has wheat issues too. And my baby is coming up to the age of eating (and already showing signs of sensitivities) so I'm going to keep her WF/DF too.

So I am grateful to be able to start saving money now, making things myself. Sadly, saving for a TMX would've taken me close to 3 years, a little too long to wait to be getting such amazing benefits for us.

I've been making almond/rice milk from Jo's Quirky Cooking recipe - and that was the main reason I wanted a machine like this - as I was paying over $3 a litre for milk for my family - and I bought more than 5 cartons a week. It all adds up!

So I hope to find some more things in my pantry to convert to home made. The kids are keeping me busy though so I'm trying to do menu planning to help me!

I hope that one day I can offer up some ideas too!  :D

Hello HBell, welcome to the forum.  We have other TC owners on here as you probably have noticed.  With all the food sensitivities you have in your house, the TC will be a wonderful help and it's great you have found Quirky Jo's blog already to help you on your way.  Good luck with cooking for your family and avoiding the sensitivities mentioned.

Thanks Judy!

I've been stalking the forums for a while now while I started the saving process - so I feel like I know what I want to achieve eventually!

Need to get myself a beautiful recipe card holder so I can start storing these lovely recipes.

Welcome HBell. You will need a very large recipe card holder as there are lots of lovely recipes on here.

Welcome to the forum HBell, sounds like a TC is just what you need with your family's intolerances. It certainly will make life so much easier for you.

HBell,  you are most welcome.  When you ask for help with a recipe or post a recipe,  please state that you have a TC as the process is a bit different to a TMX.

Welcome from another TC owner! You will be amazed by the wonderful food that you will be able to prepare in your new machine. There are lots and lots of fantastic recipes here which will generally only need minor tweaks with the speeds to work well in your TC.  Have fun ;D
