It was a tv series about 7 people shipwrecked on an island and their attempts to get rescued.

It ran from 1964-1967 and was then repeated for many, many years.

Yvette, Bob Denver played Gilligan (who never had a first name). The characters of "The Skipper' and The Professor" actually had names though they were only ever mentioned once (when they are rescued)  in the series.

The Skipper's name was Jonas Grumby and the Professor's Roy Hinkley. The professor wa actually a high school science teacher not a university professor.

Well done GF.  ;D You Googled it didn't you?  ;)

Of course I did DD ;D ;D . . . remember watching it back then but apart from Gilligan and perhaps Ginger I couldn't tell you offhand any other details.  It's still being replayed to death now I believe on cable tv . . . reruns of reruns of reruns of . . . . ;D

Oh, oh, I have a thread killer, though that would possibly cause my wife to kill me.

She will likely be having a D&C tomorrow *sigh*

I may not have really seen it but even I know Gilligans Island, and I'm only a wee whipper snapper.

Hey Rob. I hope everything goes well for your wife tomorrow.

I am too young to really remember Gilligan's Island while the series was still in production but saw it plenty in re-runs.

I had 2 of them but in the end had to have a hysterectomy - best thing that ever happened and should have been done 10 years before!  Hope the procedure works for your DW DD.

Thanks guys, I will pass on your thoughts,

it's one of those things they do that sometimes your better off not knowing the details of. It's not the first miscarriage but it is the first time this has had to be done, were both hoping that the bleeding will have stopped enough that they decide its not needed in the end. I won't be there with her as I need to take kiddies to football training, they are blissfully unaware.

The part that bugs me a little, is that my DW is talking to some people about it (pregnancy & miscarriage ) and I'm not really allowed to and about the one or two people I would tell I'm explictly forbidden from telling due to various things going on in their own lives. Hence my more oblique reference here, I figured someone among all of you might twig :)
