Lunch box recipes / ideas

My kids are very boring and stick with a vegemite sandwiche and peanut butter for the one in high school, a couple of fudgy wudgy biscuits and carrot/cucumber sticks for the young one and an apple for the older one. DS is surprising us and asking for cocktail frankfurts in a thermos with a bread roll at the moment. It's easy for us because we don't have to come up with ideas but it amazes me they have been happy with these same lunches for so long.

That would be so easy Wonder!  
My miss 5 loves hot franks in bread too, which is good and easy. She also loves soup in her thermos, or mornays, mini pies (go a bit soggy but she doesn't mind),  mince dishes or pasta dishes!    Her little cousin (in the same class) had her mum ring me the other day to find out where she could buy a thermos like miss 5's and what she had had in it the past few days!

what happened to the good old vegemite sandwiches  , kids are so spoilt these days. oops maybe i should  delete that   

Hmmm maybe the zero nutritional content and the colours and flavours! Caramel - been linked to gastro intestinal probs. So think I'f prefer additive free lunches - which was the main reason I got the TM. Although it is tempting to go something simple!

No really jokes aside, i just know some mums that go just a tiny bit over broad with school lunches

My brother used to eat Peanut Butter and Vegemite in the same sandwich

Peanut butter and honey - yep, that's nice!!  Tho I haven't had it in years...if I could be bothered getting up I'd make one now I think! Thanx for reminding me of them Amy! 
The (I think) strangest sandwich filling I have ever heard of was marmalade and pickled gerkhins.

My all time favourite sandwich when I was at school Vegemite with salt & vinegar chips  not nutritious but very delicious

Well if the more interesting lunches come back in the box, I will be resorting to sandwiches!

I tried interesting and my kids told me it has to be something they can eat quick because they hate being the last one sitting there eating their lunches, so less stress for the kids and me in the end.

I try and make their afternoon tea for when they get home different and interesting for them  though
