Oh Cookie I hope your bird is ok :(.
One of my youngest baby cockatiels had to be put to sleep this morning as it was to a point that I knew it wasn't going to survive :(, poor little thing, I tried everything, but it just was not working.
I still have 7 baby cockatiels inside doing well, and another 4 in the nest that I will pull out next week to hand feed. :)
I have Amy, Bird, Uni, CP and Judy plus another 2 babies unnamed.
Amy and Bird will go to their new homes maybe in a week or so :)

We're sitting around waiting for the vet to ring. They said they would this morning. They think he may have a blockage in his bowel or something similar. He has been a bit off colour for a while, but not what you would call sick.
I am thinking that if he didn't last the night they would have already rung. (( it's nearly 10 o'clock). I keep wanting to ring but the family say I can't as they were told to wait until the vet rings.

CC I am glad Chance is feeling better.
Dede what sort of things can we feed our bird please? Apparently he is overweight and we have to watch what we give him. I must admit he is a guts and almost tucks into what we are eating. Except chocolate and avocado.

I'm pleased you are still round too Judy.  :)

Just spoke to the vet and they have said our weiro is still alive.  They are doing some tests on him after lunch and will get back to us. DD mentioned that they may want to give him a barium X-ray to make sure his insides are working ok. Poor bird, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

The vet has just rung and they want to keep 'my baby' for another 12-14 hours. We can ring in the morning. They are thinking maybe gastro now. Poor little darling. Apparently he is being more himself now.

Good, it sounds as if he is going to recover.  He will be pleased to go home to familiar surroundings.
