We had a slithering guest in our house yard on Sunday. It is dead now thank god. I hate them with a passion.

Love the photos and captions Robyn.  It's funny how dogs look away if they don't want to know about it.

These are my late grand-dogs Chucky (Blenheim) and Meggie (tri-colour).  We used to have them for long periods before GKs came along when my DD and her DH went overseas.

I loved them both MF but Chucky was Geoff's favourite as he was so intelligent and he could let you what he wanted.  Meggie was a lap dog and all she wanted to do was eat, sleep (snore) and have cuddles.  Had no idea what to do with a ball and didn't enjoy going for a walk - you ended up having to carry her.  The gopher came in handy for her on our walks.  They have been gone now for 6 years but the pleasure they gave us will never be forgotten.

Just like us dogs all have their own personalities.
So glad they gave you so much pleasure JD. Dogs are so giving and I can't imagine life without them.
They give true unconditional love
Laughing about the gopher  :D
Would you consider one of your own JD? I guess you have more than enough on your plate without the responsibility of a dog.

My DD only asked me that recently - I'm sure she was going to buy me one MF but no, I have enough on my plate and when and if I have the time to do what I want, I don't want to be tied to the house with dogs.  I told DD that when she gets another one, I will babysit it - just like GKs, you can enjoy it but give it back and still have a life of your own.  Maybe when I'm too old to travel or get out much it would be nice to have a companion in the form of a little dog.  Trouble is, it would never be like Chucky - he was one of a kind with his personality and size.  People used to think he was a puppy when he was 10 years old as he was the runt of the litter and never looked or acted old.

My mums the same Judy - loves looking after Harry for us when we go away but doesn't want to be tied down to a pet.

Robyn I love the cockatiel.  Judy your dogs looked very lovable.

DD has bought our weiro a phone. It is a bird phone and he loves it. Scares heck out of me when it says 'hello' or 'I love you'.
