So sorry Sue about your doggie. I like to think of all our pets are in pet heaven frolicking like puppies  again making friends with each other and hoping their humans are ok.

Sue, my heart goes out to you.  I have two little ones of nearly 14 years old . . . I'd really like time to just stand still . . . .

Thank you for all your kind words, it really means a lot.
We had her for twelve and a half years, so she sort of grew up alongside the kids. We lost her suddenly, which was good for her as she didn't suffer, but hard for us as we didn't know she was ill. I keep thinking of all the treats I would have given her if I'd known her time was short.
I like to think of her in pet heaven, too, Gert. She's probably enjoying the respite from our cat, who used to torment her terribly!
The photo is of her reclining in her favourite spot......on the sofa next to me. She would get very disgruntled if one of the kids tried to move her and would make herself into a very heavy immovable object, way out of proportion to her size, and it would take immense effort to haul her out of the way!  :D

Sue, I was the opposite, when we lost our first dog, I bawled for 2 days, then was in the car to the dog refuge for another. I didn't care what it was, I just needed to have a dog. That was almost 10 years ago, Bella is still going strong, even with melanoma! The vet keeps shaking her head when we take her in for a check up...she isn't meant to be here!

Here is Chilli, relaxing by the fire last night.
