Wish me Luck
« on: August 30, 2012, 02:17:41 pm »
I am doing dips, salads, breads and desserts in my TMX on the weekend for a family party.  As I have only had my TMX a couple of days it could be interesting.  LOL

Dips are easy, salads you just need to make sure that you don't over chop and the rest will be fun too.  What have you got in mind to make disaster chef?

Making dips, mayonnaise, etc. is so easy in the TMX you simply can't go wrong.  You will be the star of the day!

I agree with Judy, err on the side of caution when chopping salad otherwise you will have lots of dips and no salad.  This was the biggest learning curve when I first started.  The recipe would say chop for say 2 seconds and I would go "surely not" and chop for at least 7 seconds - disaster, fine puree salad.

Good luck and most importantly have fun.  Expect/plan for a few disasters and then be pleasantly surprised when they don't happen.

Easy peasy salad for a newbie that gets rave reviews when I make it is the beetroot pistachio rosewater salad from in the mix.  Recipe is available on dani valant's Facebook page I believe.

And the pesto cashew dip is also delicious

Goodluck - you will be fine and I know everyone will love it!!!!  With the salads just do it for a few secs and then check if needs another second or two.  I was always following the recipe when I first got mine and they looked more like soup than salads!!!

Thanks or your replies everyone.
So far so good. I have made hommus, coleslaw, apple crumble, bread and potato salad.  I only pureed one carrot so I things have gone pretty well so far.
The proof will be in the tasting in the morning. :)
