Seepage into machine base
« on: September 11, 2012, 07:14:58 pm »
Hi

I have a problem.  I keep getting seepage onto the rubbery bit in the machine base where the heat contacts slot into.  It's more of a film on the rubber, but a little liquid also drips down from that point.  I've had a new blade seal and base, but they haven't helped.  On examining the underside of the bowl tonight, I notice moisture on the black bit on the bottom of the blade (spindle?), which was perfectly dry and clean before I started steaming and pureeing.  Has anyone encountered this problem before?  Do you think I need a new set of blades?  :(  My machine is 2½ years old and I do grind alot of rice and pulses to flour, as my husband is a Coeliac.  Could I have worn out the blade because I grind so much?

I would phone Thermomix HO UK and talk to someone about your concerns. It doesn't sound right,it should be completely dry around the contacts into the base.
